The airline operates a modern fleet comprising over 100 narrowbody and widebody aircraft, supporting a diverse and extensive route network. This provides pilots with a wide array of flying experiences, navigating operations from challenging Nordic winter conditions to dense international airspaces.
With the Embraer E195 fleet undergoing rapid expansion, SAS is seeking highly skilled Captains and experienced First Officers who are prepared for command responsibilities. Candidates are invited to join an airline positioned for substantial growth and enhancement.

Minimum Requirements:
- Holds an unrestricted EASA Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL(A))
- Possesses a valid EASA Medical Certificate Class 1
- Holds a valid Instrument Rating
- Demonstrates ICAO English Language Proficiency at Level 5 or 6
- Meets a minimum height requirement of 157 cm
- Holds unrestricted legal right to live and work within the EU/EFTA area
- Possesses a clean criminal record
Prospective employees should be aware that employment at SAS is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and a personal security interview. A drug and alcohol test is also required. Both the personal security interview and the drug and alcohol test will be conducted in the designated base city.
Flight Time Requirements:
Applicants must satisfy one of the following flight hour criteria:
- A minimum of 4,000 total flight hours, including at least 250 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC) or Pilot in Command Under Supervision (PICUS).
OR
- A minimum of 3,500 total flight hours, including at least 500 hours as PIC on aircraft with a Maximum Take-Off Weight (MTOW) exceeding 16 tonnes.
OR
- A minimum of 3,000 total flight hours, including at least 1,000 hours as PIC on aircraft with an MTOW exceeding 16 tonnes.
