Due to the rapid expansion of the Embraer E195 fleet, SAS is actively recruiting qualified E195 Captains and highly experienced First Officers who are prepared for immediate command progression. Minimum Candidate Requirements

All licenses must be valid and current at the time of application. Non-Scandinavian EASA licenses are accepted but require conversion prior to the course start date.

SAS Pilot Recruitment Process

The SAS pilot recruitment methodology is rigorous and involves several stages, with each step being potentially disqualifying.

  1. CV Screening: Review of qualifications, licenses, and flying experience.
  2. Video Interview: Candidates record responses to a set of predefined questions.
  3. Online Interview: A live one-on-one interview conducted with an SAS recruiter.
  4. Online Tests: Completion of cognitive and personality assessments.
  5. Assessment Day: Includes group exercises, a full flight simulator session, and a final personal interview.
  6. Final Checks: Comprehensive background screening, personal security interview, and mandatory drug and alcohol testing.

Note on Employment Checks: As a mandatory condition of employment, selected candidates will undergo a background check, a personal security interview, and a drug and alcohol test. Both the security interview and testing must be conducted in the designated base city.

Application Timeline and Reapplication Policy

Candidates who are successful in the initial screening can anticipate invitations for assessment during fall/winter 2025/2026. Employment is expected to commence in late 2025 or throughout the first half of 2026.

If a candidate previously attended an assessment but was unsuccessful, they are eligible to reapply after a minimum waiting period of 12 months.
