Position Overview
Republic Airways is seeking dedicated and customer-focused individuals to join its dynamic team as a Flight Attendant. This pivotal role ensures the utmost safety and comfort of all passengers throughout their journey, operating in strict adherence to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and company Inflight guidelines. A Flight Attendant serves as a primary ambassador of the airline, delivering exceptional service while maintaining a secure, pleasant, and compliant cabin environment.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Duties
To successfully fulfill the responsibilities of this role, a Flight Attendant must proficiently perform the following essential duties. Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions.
- Consistently performs all regulatory and assigned cabin duties, focusing intently on guest safety and comfort throughout the entire onboard experience.
- Maintains comprehensive and current knowledge of all emergency procedures and the proper use of onboard emergency equipment, including the ability to operate all emergency exits and aircraft equipment requiring precise movements and force up to 70 pounds.
- Provides attentive food and beverage service to passengers, a duty that involves pushing and pulling moveable service carts weighing in excess of 250 pounds.
- Assists passengers efficiently with the proper stowing of carry-on baggage, including items weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Ensures the aircraft cabin remains neat, orderly, and impeccably presentable at all times.
- Contributes significantly to reliable and on-time flight operations by collaborating effectively with other crewmembers to meet all report times, departure times, and minimum turn times.
- Performs inflight sales and promotional duties as assigned, actively enhancing the overall passenger experience.
- Supports other Customer Service staff as needed with passenger handling and related duties.
- Upholds reliable and prompt attendance in strict accordance with Company policies and procedures.
- Presents a professional image through both exemplary conduct and appearance, meticulously adhering to the Company uniform dress code.
- Complies with all Associate Rules of Conduct as stipulated in applicable manuals.
- Maintains currency and thorough understanding of all Inflight guides and manuals.
- Actively fosters the Company’s core values and culture throughout the work environment.
- Performs additional duties as assigned or required to support operations.
Required Qualifications
Education and Experience
- A high school diploma or GED is required, complemented by at least two years of relevant customer service experience.
- Candidates must be a minimum of 20 years of age by the date of the first interview.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Additional years of customer service experience, ideally within an aviation or airline environment, are highly desirable.
- Previous experience as a Flight Attendant is a significant advantage.
Other Requirements
- Possesses polished interpersonal skills, embodying a positive attitude and a strong customer-oriented mindset.
- Must be willing and able to serve alcoholic beverages to passengers.
- Must be able and willing to serve and handle meals containing common allergens and ingredients such as peanuts, shellfish/seafood, beef, and pork.
- Capable of working with animals and around other allergens and products.
- Adherence to Republic’s Flight Attendant Style Guide (Dress Code) is mandatory: Tattoos are strictly prohibited on the face (defined as the front of one's face from the ears forward, including the underside of one's chin and cheeks), neck (the area down to where a uniform shirt collar would clearly and consistently cover), and hands (including both the tops and palms of one's hands and fingers, up through the wrist bone). Tattoos in non-prohibited areas must not be visible at any time while in uniform.
- Must possess a wingspan of approximately 55 inches or greater to effectively reach and safely operate all necessary aircraft equipment.
- For safety reasons, candidates must have the ability to sit securely in the Flight Attendant jump seat with the seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without requiring an extender or any modification that could compromise the integrity of the harness. (For reference: The lap belt measurement is 50 inches when fastened, and the shoulder harness measurement is 40 inches when fastened.)
- Multiple visible piercings while in uniform are not permitted.
Language Skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex technical procedures and governmental regulations.
- Capable of effectively presenting information and responding to questions from management, crew, passengers, and the general public.
- Proficiency in spoken English is essential, including the ability to be clearly understood for shouted verbal commands during emergency situations.
Reasoning and Problem-Solving Ability
- Demonstrates a willingness to operate within a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment, effectively managing stress associated with meeting deadlines and adapting to unexpected changes.
- Capable of interpreting a variety of and multiple instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule formats.
- Must possess the critical ability to remain calm, think clearly, and react swiftly in all types of emergency situations, including but not limited to: medical emergencies, aircraft decompression, emergency evacuations, fires, security threats, passenger disturbances, and turbulence.

- Possesses the physical strength to reach and operate all emergency equipment and exits, requiring necessary movements and force up to 70 pounds.
- Capable of lifting objects above shoulders up to 35 pounds.
- Able to push and pull moveable carts weighing in excess of 250 pounds.
- Capable of walking and standing for extended periods, sometimes in environments with aircraft turbulence.
- Must be able to stoop, crouch, squat, climb, and kneel as required to perform duties.
- Possesses clear vision of 20 feet or more, with or without corrective lenses/contacts.
- Able to clearly hear verbal communications in person and over airplane communication systems, amidst ambient aircraft and passenger noise.
- Must be able to sit securely in the assigned jump seat with the seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without any modifications.
- Must be able to move about the aircraft and perform all required functions freely, effectively, and quickly within a confined environment.
- Able to work extended duty periods on sequential days.
