First Officer/Second in Command (SIC)
George J. Priester Aviation, a distinguished leader in the 135-charter industry, seeks a highly motivated and skilled First Officer/Second in Command (SIC) to support the safe and efficient operation of its aircraft. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Pilot in Command (PIC) to ensure all flight operations adhere to company policies, Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), and industry standards. This position requires a commitment to safety, professionalism, and superior customer service. This role is based in Wheeling, IL (PWK) and will operate a Citation XLS+ with approximately 300-350 hours per year.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the PIC in planning and executing all flight operations, including weather analysis, routing, aircraft performance calculations, and pre-flight inspections.
- Monitor instrumentation and aircraft systems during all phases of flight, and operate navigational and communication radios as directed by the PIC.
- Maintain a high level of crew coordination and communication, and actively engage in the company's Safety Management System (SMS).
- Assist in pre-flight and post-flight procedures, ensuring the aircraft is properly prepared and documented.
- Be vigilant for abnormal situations, take control of the aircraft if needed, and participate in safety audits.
- Provide excellent customer service to passengers, ensuring their comfort and safety.
Qualifications:
- 500-2500 total flight hours, with a minimum of 100 hours in multi-engine fixed-wing aircraft. Turbine experience is preferred.
- Commercial Pilot Certificate with multi-engine instrument rating or higher is required.
- Current First-Class Medical Certificate is required.
- Strong working knowledge of FAA regulations and flight operations procedures.
- Excellent communication and decision-making skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Proficiency in CRM and flight management systems.
- Must be available to report to the departure airport within 60 minutes for charter flight assignments.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull over 50 pounds when handling baggage and equipment.
- Must hold a valid passport and be willing to travel for extended periods as required by the flight schedule.
This is an exempt position requiring flexibility to meet business demands.
Compensation:
$80,000.00 - $100,000.00 Salary/year
