First Officer (SIC) - Citation XLS+
George J. Priester Aviation, a distinguished leader in the 135-charter industry, seeks a qualified and dedicated First Officer (Second in Command) to support the safe and efficient operation of its Citation XLS+ aircraft. The First Officer will work closely with the Pilot in Command (PIC) to ensure all flight operations adhere to company policies, Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), and the highest industry standards. This position is based in Wheeling, IL (PWK) and involves approximately 300-350 flight hours per year. Compensation ranges from $80,000 to $100,000 annually.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the PIC in comprehensive flight operations, encompassing weather analysis, route planning, aircraft performance calculations, and meticulous pre-flight inspections.
- Ensure strict compliance with all applicable regulations, standard operating procedures, and the company's Flight Operations Manual.
- Monitor aircraft instrumentation and systems throughout all phases of flight.
- Operate navigational and communication radios under the direction of the PIC, securing clearances and relaying critical instructions.
- Maintain exceptional crew coordination and communication, providing constructive feedback to the PIC and other crew members to promote safe and efficient flight operations.
- Actively participate in the company's Safety Management System (SMS) to proactively identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Conduct thorough pre-flight inspections and ensure the aircraft is meticulously clean, adequately stocked, and fully prepared for flight, ensuring all required manuals, charts, and passenger-specific items are onboard.
- Assist with post-flight procedures and complete all necessary documentation.
- Remain vigilant for any abnormal situations or deviations from standard procedures, and be prepared to take control of the aircraft in the event of PIC inattention or incapacitation.
- Engage in safety audits, contribute to corrective action plans, and implement preventive measures.
- Assist in providing exceptional customer service, ensuring passenger comfort and safety throughout the flight, and supporting the PIC in addressing passenger needs.
Qualifications:
- 500-2500 total flight hours, including a minimum of 100 hours in multi-engine fixed-wing aircraft. Turbine experience preferred.
- Commercial Pilot Certificate with multi-engine instrument rating or higher.
- Current First-Class Medical Certificate.
- Comprehensive understanding of FAA regulations and flight operations procedures.
- Exceptional communication and decision-making skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Proficiency in Crew Resource Management (CRM) and flight management systems.
- Must be able to report to the departure airport within 60 minutes for charter flight assignments.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull over 50 pounds when handling baggage and equipment.
- Must possess a valid passport and be willing to travel for extended periods as required by the flight schedule.
