Job Summary: Second in Command (SIC)

The Second in Command (SIC) reports administratively to the Chief Pilot and operationally to the Pilot-in-Command (PIC) during flight. The SIC is responsible for assisting the PIC in preparing for and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of company aircraft in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations and established company procedures.

Essential Functions

• Execute safe and efficient flight operations for domestic trip assignments under Part 135 regulations while maintaining high standards of customer service.
• Adhere to all duties and responsibilities outlined in company procedure manuals.
• Maintain a current first-class medical certificate and report any medical or mental conditions that may impair flight performance.
• Demonstrate high professional standards, including the ability to coordinate and lead the crew.
• Manage passenger-facing duties, including greeting, seating assistance, luggage storage, and conducting safety briefings.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

• ATP complete.
• Minimum of 2,000 hours total flight time (fixed-wing).
• Minimum of 200 hours of multi-engine time.
• Hold a valid FAA First-Class Medical Certificate.
• Possess a valid passport and the ability to obtain/maintain CANPASS authorization for unrestricted travel to and from Canada.
• Hold the appropriate Type Rating.
• Comprehensive knowledge of FAA and ICAO regulations, including Part 135 flight operations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites and general mobile/web-based applications.
• Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and maintain eligibility for a safety-sensitive role, including compliance with FAA drug and alcohol testing regulations.
• Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States and provide two forms of federal identification.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Physical Requirements: Must be able to see and hear clearly; read, comprehend, and speak English; perform full range of motion including climbing, kneeling, and crawling; move within tight spaces; sit, stand, and walk for extended periods; and regularly lift/move up to 50 lbs or push/pull up to 70 lbs.
• Environment: Frequent exposure to loud noises (jet engines/machinery), outdoor/hangar conditions, extreme temperatures, and cramped aircraft interiors.
• Travel: 100% travel required while on rotation.
• Uniform: Candidates must maintain a well-groomed appearance at all times in accordance with the department dress code.
