Position Overview
Northrop Grumman is seeking highly skilled and motivated Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS) Air Defense Instructors to join its advanced IBCS program. This critical role supports the integration of diverse sensors and effectors into a unified command and control system, providing warfighters with an expanded battlespace view for rapid and decisive decision-making. The successful candidate will serve as a subject matter expert, delivering formal training to military and defense clients, and supporting the ongoing development and evaluation of military training and doctrine. This position requires substantial travel and a Secret security clearance.

Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities for the IBCS Air Defense Instructor include, but are not limited to:
- Delivering comprehensive, on-site IBCS military training to end-users, specifically US Army Soldiers.
- Supporting training material developers and writers through the review, validation, and verification of instructional content.
- Participating actively in doctrinal development, embedded training scenario creation, practical exercise design, test question formulation, and after-action review and analysis.
- Assisting with the collection and analysis of training event metrics, including student enrollment, demographics, attendance, pass/fail rates, and recommendations for course and training aid improvements.
- Collaborating in the planning, preparation, and execution of IBCS military training events.
- Providing essential feedback to program leadership regarding system performance and end-user comments.
- Mentoring junior instructors on the program, fostering their skill development to advance to higher instructor tiers.
- Overseeing the instructor development program, conducting evaluations, and providing constructive feedback to instructors.
- Assisting in the troubleshooting of IBCS hardware (HW) and software (SW), including network issues, and demonstrating proficiency in operator and maintainer level tasks on the system.
Basic Qualifications
Candidates are expected to meet the following basic qualifications:
- This position is offered at two levels: Principal (Level 3) or Senior Principal (Level 4).
- Principal (Level 3): A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 10 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- Senior Principal (Level 4): A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 14 years of relevant experience in Air Defense (military or industry) and formal Military instruction in lieu of a degree.
- Possession of a Secret security clearance and a valid passport with at least 2 years remaining. The company may support expedited passport acquisition if necessary.
- The ability to relocate to Huntsville, Alabama, if not already located there, and willingness to travel approximately 75% of the time, including to EUCOM, INDOPACOM, and CONUS locations.
- Demonstrated experience with IBCS, Air Defense, C-RAM, Patriot, THAAD, or other similar military systems.
- Proven experience in a formal Military instructor role or environment, with a preference for platform instruction.
- The ability to complete Northrop Grumman IBCS entry training requirements as an associate instructor within the first 6 months of employment.
- Meeting and maintaining all administrative, legal, and medical Department of Defense contractor deployment requirements as outlined in DODI 3020.41 Operational Contract Support.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred qualifications that would significantly enhance a candidate's application include:
- An Army Air Defense MOS 14 series or equivalent military experience.
- Experience with Patriot, Forward Area Air Defense (FAAD) Command and Control (C2), or similar systems.
- Experience serving in an ADAM Cell, AMDPCS FAAD Shelter, and/or Battery Command Post.
- Completion of Army ADA School or experience at the Fires Center of Excellence in a training-related capacity.
- Military Instructor Qualified (Branch Qualified) status.
- Comprehensive knowledge of other Army ADA systems and operations, such as PATRIOT, THAAD, SENTINEL, and LTAMDS.
- Experience working with embedded training systems.
- Senior IBCS Instructor Qualified status.
- Signal/IT experience.
- Prior deployment experience in a field technical support role.
- Experience operating and deploying IBCS equipment.
- Demonstrated experience leading technical briefings with both customers and end-users.
- Possession of, or the ability to obtain, CompTIA Security+ certification.
- Possession of, or the ability to obtain, CompTIA Linux+ certification.
- Experience integrating Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS), Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS), and custom software within a security-constrained environment.
- In-depth knowledge of military operations, procedures, and training activities.
Salary and Benefits
The estimated salary range for this position is $79,100.00 – $147,800.00, depending on the level (Principal or Senior Principal). The final base salary offer will be determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. Employees may be eligible for additional compensation such as overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses based on individual contributions and company results.
