Purpose of Position
The Pilot is responsible for ensuring a superior air transportation experience while maintaining an exemplary safety record on every flight. As the ambassador of NetJets, the Pilot provides not only technically sound and safe transportation but also an exceptional service experience for every NetJets Owner and passenger. This role requires versatility, encompassing the duties of a professional aviator and an in-flight service provider to deliver a concierge-level service. The Pilot holds ultimate command of the aircraft at all times and must consistently maintain a professional demeanor.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Oversees the safe operation of the aircraft, including taxi, take-off, and landing, in strict adherence to FAA guidelines, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Checklists, NetJets Flight Operations Manual (FOM), Aircraft Operating Manual (AOM), and Standard Operating Practices (SOPs). Greets Owners/passengers pre-flight, provides introductions, briefs them on the flight details, verifies itineraries, and offers weather updates and safety briefings, explaining any itinerary changes.
- Provides in-flight service as required, including the responsible serving of alcohol and catering.
- Manages the loading and proper stowing of all baggage on the aircraft.
- Accommodates flights for Owners with pets and those who smoke.
- Serves as the final authority on the aircraft, responsible for all operational aspects and compliance with applicable safety and regulatory guidance.
- Acts as a primary liaison between Owners/passengers and NetJets from the FBO arrival to safe departure from the final destination FBO.
- Communicates any aircraft maintenance issues or discrepancies to the Company via the on-duty Maintenance Control Center (MCC) Controller for their fleet.
- Completes all required documentation pertaining to maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies.
- Performs other duties as assigned based on specific assignments.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other (KSAOs)
- Possession of an FAA ATP, Restricted ATP (R-ATP), or meeting the eligibility requirements for an FAA ATP or R-ATP certificate with a multi-engine rating, in accordance with FAR 61.160:
- Minimum 21 years of age.
- 1,500 hours of total flight time, or
- 1,250 hours with an appropriate university R-ATP certificate, or
- 1,000 hours with military pilot qualification, or
- 1,000 hours with an appropriate university R-ATP certificate.
- 200 hours of cross-country flight time (>50 nautical miles).
- 250 hours of fixed-wing Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time.
- 100 hours of night flying, or 75 hours with a minimum of 45 night takeoffs and landings.
- 75 hours of instrument time (actual or simulated in-flight, excluding simulator time).
- Completed FAA ATP written examination prior to the commencement of Indoctrination Training.
- 50 hours of fixed-wing, multi-engine flight time.
- Current FAA First-Class Medical Certificate.
- FCC Restricted Radio Operator's Permit.
- Valid passport.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. and unrestricted international travel.
- Ability to work varying hours, including days, nights, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
- Exceptional flexibility and demonstrated ability to adapt to rapid changes.
- Capability to manage personal rest to ensure readiness for flight duty at all times during the tour of duty.
- Duty periods may extend up to fourteen hours per day for up to eight consecutive days, potentially spanning multiple time zones and experiencing extreme weather variations during a trip.
- May be away from home for seven or more consecutive days and nights, residing in hotels.
- Ability to obtain appropriate airport authority and/or U.S. Customs security badges.
- Successful completion of Transportation Security Administration required background screening and ability to secure appropriate airport authority and/or U.S. Customs security badges.
- Possession of a valid United States passport with unrestricted international travel capabilities.
- Valid State driver's license.
- Fluency in English, including reading, writing, speaking, and understanding.
- Strong service orientation with a neat, well-groomed appearance and a demonstrated ability to make a positive impression, including excellent passenger interaction skills.
- Superior oral and written communication skills, particularly under pressure.
- Demonstrated ability to make swift and accurate decisions while maintaining meticulous attention to detail, both technically and from a passenger service perspective.
- Physical capability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Comfort and ability to work around animals, including handling and care before, during, and after Owner flights.
- Ability to conduct flights for Owners who smoke.
