Position Overview
The Pilot (First Officer) is instrumental in ensuring a superior air transportation experience for every flight, upholding a safety record that is second to none. This role serves as the embodiment of the NetJets brand, providing not only technically proficient and safe flight operations but also an exceptional service experience for all NetJets Owners and their passengers. The Pilot is expected to be versatile, extending beyond professional aviation to offer a concierge-level service, including in-flight hospitality. The Pilot holds ultimate command of the aircraft at all times and must consistently maintain a professional demeanor.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Ensures the safe operation of the aircraft from taxi to landing, adhering strictly to FAA guidelines, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Checklists, NetJets Flight Operations Manual (FOM) or Aircraft Operating Manual (AOM), and Standard Operating Practices (SOPs).
- Greets Owners and passengers pre-flight, conducts introductions, briefs them on flight details, verifies itineraries, and provides updated weather information and safety briefings, communicating any itinerary changes effectively.
- Provides in-flight services as required, including the responsible handling and service of alcohol and catering.
- Loads and properly stows all baggage on the aircraft.
- Manages and conducts flights for Owners with pets and for those who smoke.
- Serves as the final authority on the aircraft, overseeing all aspects of operation and ensuring compliance with all applicable safety and regulatory guidance.
- Acts as a crucial liaison between Owners/passengers and NetJets from their arrival at the Fixed-Base Operator (FBO) until their safe departure from the final FBO.
- Communicates any aircraft maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies to the Company via the assigned Maintenance Control Center (MCC) Controller.
- Completes all required documentation pertaining to maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies accurately.
- Performs other duties as assigned based on specific assignments.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other (KSAOs)
- Possession of an FAA ATP, Restricted ATP (R-ATP), or meeting the requirements for an FAA ATP or R-ATP certificate with a multi-engine rating, in accordance with FAR 61.160. This includes:
- Minimum age of 21 years.
- 1,500 hours of total flight time, or
- 1,250 hours with an appropriate university R-ATP certificate, or
- 1,000 hours with military pilot qualification, or
- 1,000 hours with an appropriate university R-ATP certificate.
- 200 hours of cross-country flight time (greater than 50 nautical miles).
- 250 hours of fixed-wing Pilot-In-Command (PIC) time.
- 100 hours of night flying, or 75 hours with a minimum of 45 night takeoffs and landings.
- 75 hours of instrument time (actual or simulated in-flight, excluding simulator time).
- Completion of the ATP written exam prior to the start of Indoctrination Training.
- 50 hours of fixed-wing, multi-engine time.
- Current FAA First-Class Medical certificate.
- FCC Restricted Radio Operator's Permit.
- Valid passport.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. and unrestricted international travel capabilities.
- Ability to work varying hours, including days, nights, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
- Exceptional flexibility and the capacity to adapt to rapid changes.
- Capability to manage personal rest to ensure readiness for flight duty at all times.
- Willingness to undertake duty periods up to fourteen hours per day for up to eight consecutive days, potentially spanning multiple time zones and diverse weather conditions.
- Ability to remain away from home for seven or more consecutive days and nights, residing in hotels.
- Eligibility to obtain appropriate airport authority and/or U.S. Customs security badges.
- Successful completion of Transportation Security Administration (TSA) required background screening and ability to secure appropriate airport authority and/or U.S. Customs security badges.
- Possession of a valid United States passport and unrestricted international travel privileges.
- Possession of a valid State driver's license.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the English language fluently.
- Strong service orientation with a neat, well-groomed appearance and a demonstrated ability to make a positive impression, including effective passenger interaction skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, particularly under pressure.
- Demonstrated ability to make swift, accurate decisions while maintaining meticulous attention to detail, encompassing both technical and passenger service aspects.
- Physical capability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Comfort and ability to work around animals, including their handling and care before, during, and after Owner flights.
- Ability to conduct flights for Owners who smoke.
