Kalitta Charters II | Captain

Kalitta Charters II seeks a qualified Boeing 737 Captain for full-time operations based in Ypsilanti, MI. This role involves scheduled and on-demand narrow-body freighter operations, flying vital cargo across North America and beyond under supplemental Part 121 air freight regulations.

About the Role

The Captain is responsible for all flight and flight operations duties, including crew and aircraft management from duty report until release. Operations are conducted under Part 121 of the U.S. FARs, with varying flight and duty schedules. Responsibilities include acting as Ground and In-Flight Security Coordinator, executing Standard Operating Procedures, ensuring safe navigation and terrain clearance, and conducting flights in compliance with the flight plan.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Aviation Related College Degree preferred
• Valid unrestricted driver’s license
• Valid unrestricted passport
• First Class Medical
• FAA Commercial Pilot License with an Instrument Rating
• FAA Airline Transport Pilot Certificate
• FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit
• Boeing 737 Type Rating
• 2,500 hours total flight time
• 500 hours turbine time
• Minimum of 500 hours in a Part 121 airline operation
• Type rated in Boeing-737
• Must meet FAR Part 121 age requirements
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
• Must pass DOT/FAA pre-employment drug screen and background check

Work Schedule and Location

• Operations are based in Ypsilanti, MI (KYIP)
• Home-based position
• 13 days on, 10 days off schedule, bid in 90-day increments
• Must be available for full-time work, including nights, weekends, and holidays
