Boeing 737 Captain
Kalitta Charters II, specializing in scheduled and on-demand narrow-body freighter operations, seeks a qualified and experienced Boeing 737 Captain. Founded in 2003 by aviator and NHRA World Champion Doug Kalitta, the company provides safe and reliable overnight freight solutions across the Americas. This is a full-time position based in Ypsilanti, MI.
The Captain is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft, crew, and flight, adhering to all applicable regulations and company procedures, from the time of reporting for duty until released. The aircraft will be operated on demand under FAR Part 121, with varying flight and duty schedules.
Functions/Responsibilities:
- Acts as the Ground Security Coordinator (GSC) and In-Flight Security Coordinator (ISC) of the flight.
- Executes flight duties in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures, including procedures, limitations, and performance relating to the Boeing 737 aircraft type.
- Ensures safe navigation of the aircraft, maintaining continuous and independent monitoring of the aircraft's geographical position and safe terrain clearance.
- Conducts the flight safely and properly, in compliance with the current flight plan.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Aviation-related College Degree preferred.
- Valid and unrestricted driver's license.
- Valid and unrestricted passport.
- FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- FAA Commercial Pilot License with Instrument Rating.
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot Certificate.
- FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
- Boeing 737 Type Rating.
- Minimum of 2,500 hours total flight time.
- Minimum of 500 hours turbine time.
- Minimum of 500 hours in a type FAR Part 121 airline operation.
- Type rated in Boeing 737.
Work Environment & Culture Skills:

- Successful completion of DOT/FAA pre-employment drug screen and a DOT/FAA compliant background check.

Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Employees are regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard.
Location Requirements:
- Operation based at Willow Run Airport (YIP) in Ypsilanti, MI.
- This position does not offer the ability to work from home.
- Relocation assistance is not provided for this position.
Shift Requirements:
- 13 days on, 10 days off schedule bid in 90-day increments.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Must be available full-time for assigned shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Other Requirements:
- Must meet FAR Part 121 age requirements.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

- Base yearly compensation of $129,600.00.
