Position Summary
Jet Aviation is seeking an exceptional and highly experienced Pilot in Command (PIC) to lead flight operations with an unwavering commitment to safety, security, and quality. The Pilot in Command reports directly to the Lead Captain, ensuring full adherence to all company operating policies and procedures. This role holds ultimate authority and responsibility for the safe and efficient conduct of all assigned flights, serving as the final decision-maker in all operational matters.
Key Responsibilities
The Pilot in Command will be entrusted with a critical array of duties, ensuring operational excellence and passenger safety:
- Safely operate the aircraft, meticulously determine departure times and routes, and exercise sound judgment in canceling flights based on weather conditions or other operational factors.
- Ensure that all flights are conducted in absolute compliance with federal, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Institute all necessary changes and adaptations as required by en route conditions, ensuring the flight continues under appropriate company protocols and regulatory guidelines.
- Conduct all flights in a safe, prudent, and professional manner, consistent with industry best practices and company standards.
- Accurately complete all required trip paperwork in strict accordance with current operational procedures.
- Ensure a thorough and complete understanding of all aspects of flight with the Second in Command.
- Record all aircraft discrepancies as they occur on the aircraft discrepancy log and promptly report these to the Director of Maintenance (DOM) or their designated representative. Consult the approved Minimum Equipment List (MEL) and, as directed by the DOM, determine whether an inoperative item can be deferred or requires immediate repair, completing the aircraft discrepancy log as necessary.
- Verify that the flight crew reports for duty in proper attire and is mentally and physically fit for their responsibilities.
- Maintain an expert-level working knowledge of all aircraft systems, including all emergency systems and procedures, for aircraft types authorized to operate.
- Secure the aircraft after each flight, including arranging hangar storage if deemed necessary or instructed by company management.
- Obtain the most current weather reports, forecasts, and Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) from a FAA flight service station or other authorized agencies.
- File, or ensure the filing of, a flight plan with the FAA or an appropriate ICAO state ATC facility.
- Rigorously analyze area, en route, and terminal charts for the airport of intended landing and any designated alternates.
- Perform the functions of the In-flight Security Coordinator (ISC) under the provisions of the 12-5 Standard Security Program or Private Charter Standard Security Program, as applicable.
- Conduct the required passenger safety briefings or assign that duty to the Second in Command.
- Impart essential knowledge and skills to the Second in Command to prepare them to assume the duties of Pilot in Command in an emergency or during their eventual upgrade to PIC in that aircraft.
- Complete and transmit the leg manifest to operations control prior to each departure.
- Complete and submit the End of Day (EOD) report to operations control upon the completion of each flight day.
- Take an active role in supporting the open sharing of information on all safety issues and promptly report all safety hazards and concerns.
- Immediately report any hazardous action, conduct, or event to the Chief Pilot and Director of Safety.
- The Pilot in Command may delegate certain duties but retains full responsibility for their successful execution.
- Represent Jet Aviation as a unified entity, both internally and externally, engaging with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the broader General Dynamics network.
- Perform other duties as required to support operational excellence.
Minimum Qualifications
Prospective candidates must meet the following stringent requirements:
- Possession of an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate with the appropriate Aircraft Type Rating.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- A minimum of 3,500 hours Total Fixed Wing flight time.
- A minimum of 1,500 hours Multi-Engine Land flight time.
- A minimum of 1,500 hours Pilot-in-Command (PIC) flight time.
- A minimum of 1,500 hours Turbojet flight time.
- A minimum of 500 hours Turbine flight time.
- A minimum of 100 hours Night flight time.
- A minimum of 75 hours Actual or Simulated Instrument flight time.
- A minimum of 5 years of professional aviation experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work flexible schedules, including irregular hours and on-call availability.
- Willingness and unrestricted ability to travel extensively worldwide.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.

Compensation and Benefits
Compensation Data
