Captain, Search and Rescue (SAR) - Challenger 604

Leidos Airborne Solutions Australia is seeking experienced Captains to join its Search and Rescue (SAR) fleet, operating state-of-the-art Challenger 604 jets. This vital role involves commanding SAR missions across Australia's extensive SAR region, contributing directly to life-saving operations. The position is based in Perth, Melbourne, or Cairns, under contract with the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA).

Responsibilities

  • Command SAR missions in dynamic, time-critical environments.
  • Lead and mentor crew to maintain the highest standards of safety and professionalism.
  • Operate advanced mission systems with precision and confidence.
  • Oversee aircraft readiness and mission planning.
  • Contribute to innovation in SAR capability.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident (ITAR restrictions apply).
  • Australian ATPL(A) and MEA Instrument Rating.
  • CASA Class 1 Medical.
  • Eligibility for an Aviation Security Identity Card (ASIC).
  • Minimum 3000 hours total flying time, including:
    • 1500 hours multi-engine.
    • 1000 hours command.
  • Jet experience is highly regarded.
  • Ability to reside within 30 minutes of the assigned base when on night standby.

Recruitment Process
