Purpose of Position
Executive Jet Management (EJM), a Berkshire Hathaway company, is actively seeking a highly professional Pilot in Command (PIC) for a long-term career opportunity. This position supports a dedicated three-pilot account for a well-established aircraft owner, emphasizing professionalism, discretion, and continuity. The role involves operating a Gulfstream G280, primarily under Part 91 regulations with some Part 135 operations. The aircraft is based at Raleigh-Durham International Airport (KRDU) and is supported by a dedicated Maintenance Technician. The Pilot in Command holds ultimate responsibility for ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the aircraft, adhering to all company and regulatory requirements while delivering an unparalleled service experience to passengers.
Key Responsibilities
Ensuring Safe Flight Operations:
- Guaranteeing that all crewing and trip assignments comply with company policies and regulatory mandates.
- Performing comprehensive flight planning, aircraft performance calculations, and weight and balance tasks for each flight assignment.
- Utilizing the Threats, Plans, and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to conduct essential briefings and proactively mitigate operational risks.
- Adhering strictly to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordinating effectively with all relevant company personnel.
- Serving as the designated Grounds Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator as stipulated by company policy.
- Completing all pre-flight aircraft checks, including verification of the aircraft's maintenance status, to confirm mission readiness.
- Documenting all aircraft discrepancies accurately in accordance with company SOPs.
- Monitoring and ensuring the proper execution of all aircraft ground servicing procedures, such as fueling, oil, and oxygen, as per SOPs.
- Conducting passenger briefings in strict accordance with company policy and regulatory guidelines.
- Delivering the highest caliber of customer service, addressing the unique needs of all passengers, including those with physical challenges.
- Employing Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) principles to facilitate clear and timely communication with crew members and support staff during all phases of flight, including normal, abnormal, and emergency operations.
Delivering an Exceptional Service Experience:
- Providing superior service to aircraft owners and passengers, actively identifying opportunities to enhance the EJM service experience.
- Investigating and resolving any service deviations promptly and effectively.
- Collaborating seamlessly with fellow crew members and EJM internal departments to ensure a consistently outstanding service experience for owners and passengers.
- Effectively resolving conflicts and challenges in a professional and acceptable manner.
Maintaining Proficiency and Compliance:
- Ensuring all regulatory and company-required training and recency of experience requirements are met.
- Actively participating in the company's Safety Management System (SMS) program and reporting any safety concerns or compliance issues through the designated channels.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience: 4-6 years of relevant aviation experience. Prior experience in corporate or business aviation is strongly preferred.
- FAA Type Rating: Must possess an FAA Type Rating in the applicable fleet.
- Essential Functions: Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position.
Minimum Flight Time Requirements:
- Total Flight Time: 3,500 hours
- Multi-Engine Land (MEL): 1,500 hours
- Pilot in Command (PIC): 2,000 hours
- PIC Multi-Engine Land (PIC MEL): 500 hours
- Instrument: 300 hours
- Jet: 500 hours
