Position Summary
Jet Aviation is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Falcon 900EX Captain to join its Flight Services team in Plymouth, Massachusetts. The Pilot in Command reports to the Lead Captain and holds the ultimate authority and responsibility for the safe, secure, and efficient conduct of all assigned flights. This critical role ensures strict adherence to company operating policies, procedures, and all applicable federal and local regulations, prioritizing safety and quality above all.
Key Responsibilities
The Pilot in Command will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:
- Operates aircraft safely, determining optimal departure times and routes, and making informed decisions regarding flight cancellations based on weather or other conditions.
- Ensures complete compliance with all federal, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures throughout the flight.
- Initiates necessary changes to the flight plan as dictated by en-route conditions, always adhering to company policies and rules.
- Conducts flights in a safe and prudent manner, upholding industry and company standards.
- Completes all required trip paperwork accurately and in accordance with current procedures.
- Fosters a thorough and complete understanding with the Second in Command regarding all aspects of flight operations.
- Records all aircraft discrepancies in the discrepancy log as they occur and promptly reports them to the Director of Maintenance (DOM) or designee. Determines, in consultation with the DOM, if an inoperative item can be deferred per the approved MEL or requires immediate repair.
- Verifies that the flight crew reports for duty in proper attire and is physically and mentally fit for duty.
- Maintains a comprehensive working knowledge of all aircraft systems authorized for operation, including emergency systems and procedures.
- Secures the aircraft post-flight, arranging hangar storage if deemed necessary or instructed by company management.
- Obtains the most current weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMs from authorized agencies (e.g., FAA flight service station).
- Files or ensures the filing of flight plans with the FAA or relevant ICAO state ATC facility.
- Analyzes area, en-route, and terminal charts for the intended landing airport and alternates.
- Performs the functions of the In TSA Flight Security Coordinator (ISC) as required by the applicable standard security program.
- Conducts or delegates passenger safety briefings.
- Imparts knowledge and skills to the Second in Command to prepare them for assuming Pilot in Command duties during emergencies or for future upgrades.
- Completes and transmits leg manifests to operations control prior to each departure.
- Completes and transmits the End of Day (EOD) report to operations control upon completion of each flight day.
- Actively supports the open sharing of information on all safety issues and promptly reports all safety hazards and concerns.
- Makes immediate reports of any hazardous action, conduct, or event to the Chief Pilot and Director of Safety.
- May delegate duties but retains ultimate responsibility for their execution.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Represents Jet Aviation as a unified entity, both internally and externally with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the General Dynamics network.
Minimum Qualifications
Successful candidates for this role must possess the following:
- An Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate with the appropriate Aircraft Type Rating.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- 4,000 hours Total Fixed Wing flight time.
- 1,500 hours Multi-Engine Land flight time.
- 2,000 hours Pilot-in-Command (PIC) flight time.
- 1,500 hours Turbojet flight time.
- 1,500 hours Turbine flight time.
- 100 hours Night flight time.
- 75 hours Actual or Simulated Instrument flight time.
- A minimum of five (5) years of aviation experience.
- Ability to work flexible schedules.
- Willingness and ability to travel worldwide extensively without restrictions.
- A valid driver's license.

Physical Demands
The role requires frequent use of hands and fingers for handling, feeling, or reaching. Regular standing, walking, and sitting are essential. Occasional requirements include climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds above their head. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.
Work Environment
The work environment spans both heavy maintenance areas and upscale customer facilities. Noise levels are typically moderate but can become high during aircraft arrivals and departures. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration, and occasional fuel fumes may be present. The role requires willingness and ability to work in all types of weather conditions. Hangar environments may experience extreme hot and cold temperatures seasonally. The overall noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
