Jet Linx, a premier private aviation company, is actively seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Second in Command (SIC) pilot to join its dynamic flight operations team. This full-time position, based in Atlanta, Georgia, offers an exceptional opportunity for an experienced aviation professional to operate Citation XLS/XLS+ midsize jet aircraft under both Part 91 and Part 135 regulations. Candidates must currently reside in or be willing to relocate to the Atlanta base area, ensuring adherence to a stringent two-hour call-out time.
Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Base Chief Pilot, the Second in Command plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of company aircraft. This position demands a proactive and meticulous approach to flight planning, execution, and adherence to Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and Jet Linx's rigorous operational standards. The SIC is instrumental in supporting the Captain and contributing to an outstanding private jet travel experience for clients.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
- Assist the Captain in all phases of flight, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures and regulatory requirements for Part 91 and Part 135 operations.
- Execute duties related to pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight operations, prioritizing safety and operational efficiency.
- Proactively manage flight, duty, and rest times in strict accordance with company policies and Federal Aviation Regulations (CFRs).
- Maintain consistent and clear communication with company dispatch and operations for standby assignments, trip notifications, position reports, and comprehensive flight documentation.
- Oversee the maintenance and currency of Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) hardware and applications, along with navigation charts, publications, and company manuals.
- Demonstrate strong, proactive decision-making skills and uphold Jet Linx's core values in all professional interactions.
- Maintain a current FAA First-Class Medical Certificate.
Required Qualifications
Prospective candidates for this Second in Command Pilot role must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Minimum 1,500 hours Total Flight Time.
- Minimum 500 hours Pilot in Command (PIC) Time.
- Minimum 500 hours Multi-Engine Time.
- Minimum 100 hours Turbine Time.
- Minimum 150 hours Instrument Time.
- Possession of an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate or the ability to obtain one promptly.
- A current FAA First-Class Medical Certificate.
- A valid FCC Restricted Radio Operator's Permit.
- A current U.S. driver's license.
- A valid, unexpired passport with unrestricted ability to travel internationally, including to Canada and Caribbean countries.
- Demonstrated eligibility to work in the United States.
- Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and submit to random drug and alcohol testing as required by regulations.
- Successful completion of an FAA Pilot Record Database (PRD) review with a System Chief Pilot.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional work experience is required.
- Physical capability to move up to 50 pounds frequently, with work primarily conducted in and around aircraft and terminal environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current or recurrent Part 142 training in Citation XLS/XLS+ type within the last 24 months is highly preferred.
Compensation and Benefits

The starting annual base salary for this Second in Command Pilot position ranges from $89,000 to $125,000, commensurate with geographic location, aircraft type (crew positions), and the candidate's relevant education, training, and experience.
