Position Summary
Jet Linx is actively seeking highly qualified and experienced aviation professionals for the role of Second in Command (SIC) supporting flight operations aboard the midsize Citation XLS/XLS+ aircraft fleet. This full-time position in Atlanta, Georgia, is integral to maintaining superior safety standards across both Part 91 and Part 135 flight segments. The successful candidate reports directly to the Base Chief Pilot and is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the company aircraft in strict accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and established company procedures.
Applicants must reside in, or be willing to relocate to, the Atlanta area. It is a mandatory requirement that the chosen candidate lives, or commits to relocating, within a two-hour call-out radius of their designated home base.
Essential Responsibilities
The Second in Command is expected to perform critical operational and administrative duties, including:
- Meticulously manage duty, flight, and rest times, ensuring complete adherence to both company standards and Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs).
- Maintain proactive communication with company operational control regarding standby assignments, trip notifications, position calls, and timely submission of pre- and post-flight reports.
- Manage the electronic flight bag (EFB) hardware and associated applications, guaranteeing operational readiness.
- Verify that all navigation charts, publications, and company manuals are current and readily accessible for flight operations.
- Demonstrate strong, proactive decision-making skills in all phases of flight.
- Uphold and exhibit Jet Linx’s core values in every professional interaction.
Minimum Professional Qualifications
Flight Hour Requirements
- Total Time: 1,500 hours
- Total Pilot in Command (PIC) Time: 500 hours
- Total Multi-Engine Time: 500 hours
- Total Turbine Time: 100 hours
- Total Instrument Time: 150 hours
Licensing and Other Requirements
- Current, unexpired First Class medical certificate.
- Possession of, or immediate ability to obtain, an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate.
- Possession of a current passport allowing for unrestricted travel to Canada and Caribbean countries.
- Possession of a valid FCC Restricted Radio License.
- Ability to obtain a valid U.S. driver's license and provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and consent to random drug and alcohol testing as required by regulation.
- Successful completion of an FAA Pilot Record Database review conducted by the System Chief Pilot.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, relevant work experience is required.
- Willingness and ability to work a schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical ability to frequently move up to 50 pounds, as the majority of work is conducted within and around aircraft and airport terminals.
Preferred Qualifications
- Recent Initial or Recurrent 142 training/type rating in the Citation XLS/XLS+ completed within the last 24 months.
Compensation and Benefits
Jet Linx offers a highly competitive compensation and benefits package tailored for aviation professionals. The starting base annual salary for the Second in Command position ranges from $89,000 to $125,000, determined by factors including geographic location, aircraft size, and the candidate’s relevant education, training, and experience.
