Second in Command (SIC) – Citation XLS/XLS+ Pilot

Jet Linx invites applications from highly qualified and professional aviators for the role of Second in Command (SIC) on our Midsize jet fleet, specifically the Citation XLS and XLS+. This full-time position supports robust Part 91 and 135 flight operations. The successful applicant must currently reside in, or be willing to relocate to, the Denver, Colorado area, maintaining the ability to respond within a two-hour call-out time to the home base.
Position Summary
The Second in Command (SIC) reports directly to the Base Chief Pilot, contributing significantly to the flight crew. The SIC is instrumental in preparing for and executing the safe and efficient operation of company aircraft. This requires strict adherence to all Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and established company procedures.
Essential Pilot Functions and Responsibilities
The SIC is responsible for a range of critical duties supporting flight safety and operational excellence:
- Rigorously manage and comply with duty, flight, and rest time limitations as mandated by both company policies and Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs).
- Maintain consistent and proactive communication with the company regarding standby duty assignments, trip notifications, position calls, and timely submission of pre- and post-flight reports.
- Efficiently manage and maintain Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) hardware and applications.
- Ensure all necessary navigation charts, aeronautical publications, and company operational manuals are current and readily accessible.
- Maintain a current 1st Class Medical Certificate.
- Exhibit strong, proactive, and timely decision-making skills throughout all phases of flight and operations.

Minimum Experience Requirements (Hours)
- Total Time: 1500 hours
- Total Pilot in Command (PIC) Time: 500 hours
- Total Multi-Engine Time: 500 hours
- Total Turbine Time: 100 hours
- Total Instrument Time: 150 hours
Other Qualifications and Requirements
Qualified candidates must meet the following additional criteria:
- Initial or Recurrent 142 training specific to type (Citation XLS/XLS+) within the previous 24 months is highly preferred.
- Ability to secure and maintain a valid U.S. driver's license.
- Must provide proof of eligibility to work legally in the United States.
- Possession of a current, valid passport is mandatory.
- Possession of, or the ability to obtain, an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate.
- Must hold a valid 1st Class Medical Certificate.
- Possession of an FCC Restricted Radio License.
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and be subject to required random drug and alcohol testing.
- Unrestricted ability to travel internationally, including to Canada and Caribbean nations.
- Ability to authorize and successfully pass an FAA Pilot Record Database (PRD) review conducted by a System Chief Pilot.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as operational demands require.
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional work experience is required.
- The role primarily involves work within and around aircraft and aircraft terminals.
- Physical ability to frequently move and lift up to 50 pounds.
Compensation and Benefits
Jet Linx is committed to providing a competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package to its team members. The starting base annual salary for the Second in Command position ranges from $89,000 to $125,000. The actual determined base salary is carefully structured based on factors including geographic location (base area), aircraft size (crew positions), relevant education, training, and documented experience of the selected candidate.
