Jet Linx, a premier private aviation company, is actively seeking highly qualified and experienced aviation professionals for the role of Second in Command (SIC) for its Midsize jet aircraft fleet, specifically the Citation XLS/XLS+. This full-time position, based in Scottsdale, Arizona, offers an exceptional opportunity to contribute to dynamic Part 91 and 135 flight operations. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient execution of all flight missions, upholding the highest standards of safety and service synonymous with Jet Linx.
Position Summary
The Second in Command reports directly to the Base Chief Pilot, collaborating closely to prepare and execute company aircraft operations in strict adherence to Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and established company procedures. This role is integral to maintaining the operational excellence and safety culture of Jet Linx.
Location and Relocation
This position is based in Scottsdale, Arizona. Candidates must currently reside in or be willing to relocate to the base area. A crucial requirement is the ability to maintain a residence within a two-hour call-out radius of the designated home base to ensure operational readiness.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
The Second in Command is responsible for a comprehensive range of duties, including but not limited to:
- Managing flight, duty, and rest periods in full compliance with both company policies and Federal Aviation Regulations.
- Maintaining consistent and clear communication with company dispatch regarding standby assignments, trip notifications, position reports, and pre- and post-flight documentation.
- Proficiently managing Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) hardware and applications to support flight operations.
- Ensuring the currency and accuracy of all navigation charts, aviation publications, and company operational manuals.
- Maintaining a current First-Class FAA Medical Certificate at all times.
- Demonstrating strong, proactive decision-making skills in all operational scenarios.
- Upholding and embodying Jet Linx’s core values in every interaction and aspect of the role.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates for this demanding role must meet stringent flight experience requirements:
- Total Flight Time: 1500 hours
- Pilot in Command (PIC) Time: 500 hours
- Multi-Engine Time: 500 hours
- Turbine Time: 100 hours
- Instrument Time: 150 hours
Additional Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required.
- Possession of or the ability to obtain an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate.
- Possession of a current FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. and ability to obtain a U.S. driver's license.
- A current, valid passport with unrestricted ability to travel to Canada and Caribbean countries.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and willingness to submit to random drug and alcohol testing as required by regulations.
- Ability to successfully complete an FAA Pilot Record Database review conducted by a System Chief Pilot.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as dictated by flight schedules.
- Physical ability to move up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis, with the majority of work performed in and around aircraft and airport terminals.
- Preferred: Initial or recurrent Part 142 training in Citation XLS/XLS+ type within the last 24 months.
Compensation and Benefits

The starting base annual salary for this Second in Command position ranges from $89,000 to $125,000, commensurate with geographic location, aircraft type, crew position, and the candidate's relevant education, training, and experience.
