Second in Command (SIC) - Midsize Jet Pilot
Jet Linx invites applications from highly qualified Second in Command (SIC) professionals to operate its Midsize jet aircraft fleet under Part 91 and Part 135 flight operations. This is an exceptional opportunity for a dedicated aviation professional to join a leading private jet company. Ideal candidates will reside within, or be willing to relocate to, the designated base area, ensuring a maximum 2-hour call-out response time.
Position Summary
The Second in Command (SIC) plays a critical role in supporting the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of company aircraft. Reporting directly to the Base Chief Pilot, the SIC assists in all aspects of flight preparation and execution, strictly adhering to Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and established company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Manages duty, flight, and rest times in strict accordance with both company policies and Federal Aviation Regulations (CFRs).
- Maintains continuous communication with the company regarding standby duty assignments, trip notifications, position calls, and comprehensive pre- and post-flight reports.
- Efficiently maintains and manages Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) hardware and applications.
- Ensures the currency of all navigation charts, aviation publications, and company manuals.
- Demonstrates strong, proactive decision-making skills throughout all phases of flight and operational duties.
- Embodies and upholds Jet Linx's core values in all professional interactions.
Minimum Flight Time Requirements
- Total Time: 1500 hours
- Total Pilot-in-Command (PIC): 500 hours
- Total Multi-Engine: 500 hours
- Total Turbine: 100 hours
- Total Instrument: 150 hours
Qualifications & Requirements
- Possession of a current and valid 1st Class Medical Certificate.
- Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate or the ability to obtain one.
- Valid FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional work experience is required.
- Initial or recurrent Part 142 training in relevant aircraft type within the last 24 months is preferred.
- Possession of a valid U.S. driver's license.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Possession of a current and valid passport.
- Unrestricted travel capability to international destinations, including Canada and Caribbean countries.
- Consent to and successful completion of an FAA Pilot Record Database (PRD) review conducted by the System Chief Pilot.
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening and compliance with random drug/alcohol testing protocols when required.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Flexibility to work varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to support 24/7 flight operations.
- Work is primarily conducted in and around aircraft and aircraft terminals.
- Ability to frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds.
Compensation & Benefits
Jet Linx is proud to offer a highly competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package to its team members. The starting base annual salary for this pivotal position ranges from $89,000 to $125,000. Actual base salary is determined by factors such as geographic location, aircraft size, specific crew position, and the candidate's relevant education, training, and experience.
