Overview
Jet Linx is actively seeking highly qualified and experienced Second in Command (SIC) candidates for its midsize jet aircraft fleet, specifically the Lear 60, to support both Part 91 and Part 135 flight operations. This full-time pilot position is based in Miami, FL. Prospective candidates must reside in, or be willing to relocate to, an area that ensures a response time within a two-hour call-out window to their designated home base.
Position Summary
The Second in Command (SIC) reports directly to the Base Chief Pilot. The SIC plays a crucial role in preparing and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of company aircraft, strictly adhering to Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and established company procedures. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, compliance, and operational excellence.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of critical duties, including:
- Managing duty, flight, and rest times in strict compliance with both company regulations and Federal Aviation Regulations (CFRs).
- Maintaining consistent and proactive communication with the company regarding standby duty assignments, trip notifications, position calls, and the submission of pre- and post-flight reports.
- Proficiently maintaining and managing Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) hardware and applications to ensure operational readiness.
- Ensuring that all navigation charts, aeronautical publications, and company manuals are current and readily accessible for flight operations.
- Maintaining a current FAA 1st Class medical certificate, valid for all flight duties.
- Demonstrating strong, proactive decision-making skills in dynamic operational environments.
- Upholding and embodying Jet Linx’s core values in all professional interactions and daily responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following flight experience requirements:
- Total Flight Time: 1,500 hours
- Total Pilot in Command (PIC) Time: 500 hours
- Total Multi-Engine Time: 500 hours
- Total Turbine Time: 100 hours
- Total Instrument Time: 150 hours
Additional Requirements
The ideal candidate will also possess the following:
- Possession of, or the ability to obtain, an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.
- A current FAA 1st Class Medical Certificate.
- An FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. driver's license.
- Proof of eligibility to work legally in the U.S.
- A current and valid passport, with unrestricted ability to travel to Canada and Caribbean countries.
- The ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and consent to random drug and alcohol testing as required by regulations.
- The ability to release and pass an FAA Pilot Record Database review conducted by a System Chief Pilot.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as operational demands dictate.
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional work experience is required.
- The physical capability to move up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis.
- Preferred: Initial or recurrent 142 training in the Lear 60 type within the last 24 months is highly desirable.
- The majority of work is completed in and around aircraft and aircraft terminals.
Compensation and Benefits
Jet Linx offers a highly competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package to its team members. The starting base annual salary for this Second in Command position ranges from $100,000 to $149,999.98. The actual base salary provided is dependent upon factors such as geographic location, aircraft size (and associated crew positions), and the candidate's relevant education, training, and experience.
