Second in Command (SIC) - Citation XLS/XLS+ | Full Time | Jet Linx - Denver, CO
Jet Linx invites applications for qualified Second in Command (SIC) candidates to join its team for Part 91 and Part 135 flight operations aboard its Midsize jet aircraft, specifically the Citation XLS/XLS+. This full-time position is based in Denver, CO. The successful candidate must reside in or be willing to relocate to the base area, maintaining residency within a two-hour call-out time of the home base.
Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Base Chief Pilot, the Second in Command is integral to the flight crew. This role supports the safe and efficient operation of company aircraft, ensuring strict adherence to Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and established company procedures.
Minimum Requirements
Candidates must meet the following flight time minimums:
- Total Time: 1500 hours
- Total PIC: 500 hours
- Total Multi-Engine: 500 hours
- Total Turbine: 100 hours
- Total Instrument: 150 hours
Essential Functions
The Second in Command is responsible for:
- Managing duty, flight, and rest times in accordance with company requirements and CFRs.
- Maintaining consistent communication with the company regarding standby duty assignments, trip notifications, position calls, and pre- and post-flight reports.
- Maintaining and managing Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) hardware and applications.
- Ensuring navigation charts, publications, and company manuals are current and readily available.
- Maintaining a current 1st Class medical certificate.
- Demonstrating strong, proactive decision-making skills during all phases of flight operations.
- Upholding and embodying Jet Linx’s core values in all professional interactions.
Other Requirements
- Initial or Recurrent 142 training in type within the last 24 months is preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. driver's license.
- Proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
- Possession of a current passport.
- Ability to obtain or currently hold an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.
- Possession of a current 1st Class Medical certificate.
- Possession of an FCC Restricted Radio License.
- Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and comply with random drug/alcohol testing when required.
- Unrestricted ability to travel internationally, including to Canada and Caribbean countries.
- Ability to consent to and pass an FAA Pilot Record Database review conducted by a System Chief Pilot.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as operational demands require.
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required.
- The majority of work is conducted in and around aircraft and aircraft terminals.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis.
Compensation
Jet Linx provides a competitive compensation and benefits package for its team members. The starting base annual salary for this Second in Command position ranges from $89,000 to $125,000. The final base salary is determined based on factors including geographic location, aircraft size (relevant for crew positions), and the candidate's relevant education, training, and experience. The comprehensive benefits package includes health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a 6% company match, paid time off, and company-paid life and short-term disability coverage.
