Jet Linx invites applications for the position of Second in Command (SIC) Pilot for its Midsize jet aircraft fleet. This role supports Part 91 and Part 135 flight operations based in Scottsdale, Arizona. Successful candidates are expected to live in or be willing to relocate to the base area, ensuring the ability to meet a two-hour call-out time from their home base.

Position Summary

The Second in Command reports directly to the Base Chief Pilot. This crucial role is responsible for assisting the Captain in preparing and executing the safe and efficient operation of company aircraft. The SIC operates in strict adherence to Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and all company procedures, contributing to the highest standards of safety and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

The Second in Command is tasked with performing a variety of essential functions, including:

  • Managing personal duty, flight, and rest times in compliance with both company policy and CFR requirements.
  • Maintaining consistent communication with the company regarding standby duty assignments, trip notifications, position reporting, and submission of pre- and post-flight reports.
  • Effectively managing and maintaining electronic flight bag (EFB) hardware and necessary applications.
  • Ensuring all navigation charts, publications, and company manuals are current and readily accessible.
  • Holding and maintaining a current FAA 1st Class Medical Certificate.
  • Consistently demonstrating strong, proactive decision-making skills in dynamic environments.
  • Embodying Jet Linx’s core values in all professional interactions and duties.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following flight hour requirements:

  • Total Time: 1500 hours
  • Total Pilot in Command (PIC): 500 hours
  • Total Multi-Engine: 500 hours
  • Total Turbine: 100 hours
  • Total Instrument: 150 hours

Additional Requirements

Qualified applicants should also possess:

  • Initial or Recurrent FAR Part 142 training in type within the last 24 months is preferred.
  • The ability to obtain a U.S. driver's license.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
  • A current passport permitting international travel.
  • An Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate or the ability to obtain one.
  • A current FAA 1st Class Medical Certificate.
  • An FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
  • The ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and submit to random drug/alcohol testing as required.
  • Unrestricted ability to travel to Canada and Caribbean countries.
  • The ability to authorize release of records and pass an FAA Pilot Record Database review conducted by a System Chief Pilot.
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as operational demands require.
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Comfort working primarily in and around aircraft and aircraft terminals.
  • The ability to move up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis.
