First Officer Experienced – Horizon Air
Horizon Air is seeking highly skilled professionals to join our flight operations team as a First Officer. Role Summary
The First Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and positive experience of all Horizon Air guests while maintaining the highest level of professionalism in all aspects of flight operations.
Key Duties

Serve as Second in Command for the transport of passengers, mail, and freight.

Manage all aspects of flight conduct, including preflight paperwork, safe flight operations, and post-flight duties.

Ensure compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAA), Company Flight Procedures, and internal policies.

Coordinate operational tasks such as fueling, loading, and passenger handling in accordance with the FOM, FARs, and CRFs.

Practice effective Cockpit Resource Management and collaborate with all operational departments.

Maintain a professional image and demeanor as a representative of Horizon Air.
Candidate Requirements
Experience and Education

Minimum 21 years of age.

High school diploma or equivalent; a four-year degree from an accredited university is preferred.

Must possess a valid U.S. passport allowing unrestricted travel and a valid Driver’s License.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Excellent judgment, leadership skills, and maturity.

Ability to communicate in English.
Flight Requirements
-
200 hours of FAA-approved Prior Qualifying Time (per FAR § 121.436(a)(3)), verified via logbooks.
-
Minimum 1,465 hours total flight time or R-ATP qualified.
-
500 hours cross-country flight time (200 hours if R-ATP or military qualified).

100 hours night flight time.
-
250 hours as pilot in command, including 100 hours cross-country and 25 hours night flight time.
-
75 hours of instrument flight time (actual or simulated).
-
25 hours multi-engine flight time (100 hours preferred).
-
100 hours flown within the last 12 months preferred.
Certifications
-
FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with multi-engine and instrument ratings.

Current First-Class FAA Medical Certificate.
-
FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
Conditions of Employment

Must be willing to accept base assignments in Seattle, WA; Portland, OR; Spokane, WA; Boise, ID; Medford, OR; Anchorage, AK; or Everett, WA.

Must be available for a varied schedule, including weekends, holidays, and multi-day travel.

Requirement to obtain and maintain an Airport SIDA badge.

Successful completion of post-offer/pre-employment DOT drug testing is mandatory.
Compensation and Benefits

First-year pay rate: $92.72.
-
Monthly pay guarantee (jet): 75 credit hours; Reserve pay guarantee: 73 credit hours.

Longevity pay match for prior Part 121 experience (no cap).
