Overview

Role Responsibilities

  • Serve as Second in Command for the transportation of passengers, mail, and freight, or for other commercial aviation purposes.
  • Adhere strictly to Federal Aviation Regulations, Company Flight Procedures, and Company Policies on all scheduled flights and routes to ensure flight safety.
  • Conduct all business activities with unwavering professionalism and a commendable demeanor.
  • Operate Company aircraft in accordance with established Qualification Standards and all Flight Manual operating procedures and policies.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with all required agencies and personnel, adhering to Company Communication Practices.
  • Possess knowledge commensurate with the holder of an Airline Transport Pilot certificate, including a comprehensive understanding of all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and the Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM).

Job-Specific Requirements

Alaska Airlines Seniority List Requirements

Required:

  • A minimum of 1,500 hours of total documented flight time.
  • A current First Class FAA Medical Certificate.
  • A minimum of 500 hours of fixed-wing turbine time (airplane and powered lift combined).
  • Possession of a current passport with unlimited access to and from the United States, with at least six months of validity remaining at the time of employment. Employees with non-U.S. passports must also possess appropriate travel documentation.
  • Ability to travel immediately and repeatedly to any domestic or international location served by Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines.
  • FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument-Airplane rating.
  • Fulfillment of all aeronautical experience requirements for an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) with an Airplane category rating, as stipulated in 14 CFR §61.159.
  • A current FAA ATP written exam.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • A valid Driver’s License issued by a U.S. state or U.S. territory.
  • Willingness to accept domicile in Seattle, WA; Los Angeles, CA; Anchorage, AK; Portland, OR; or San Francisco, CA.
  • Demonstrated excellent judgment, leadership skills, commandability, and maturity.
  • Professional demeanor and appearance.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in decision-making.
  • Capacity to maintain composure under pressure.
  • Minimum age of 23 years.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred:

  • A four-year degree from an accredited university.
  • An FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.
  • 500 hours of multi-engine airplane time.
  • A minimum of 50 hours of flight time within the last 12 months.
  • 500 hours of turbine Pilot in Command (PIC) time.
  • Experience in turbojet/turboprop aircraft within a complex flying environment.

Hawaiian Airlines Seniority List Requirements

Required:

Compensation and Benefits

Alaska Airlines Seniority List Pay Details:

  • First-year pay rate: $124.72 (per contract)
  • Monthly pay guarantee: 70 hours
  • Reserve pay guarantee: 75 hours (long call); 84 hours (short call)

Hawaiian Airlines Seniority List Pay Details:

  • First-year pay rate: $87.00 (per contract)
  • Monthly pay guarantee: 75 hours
  • Reserve pay guarantee: 75 hours (long call); 75 hours (short call)
