Aviation Program Specialist
Location: Scottsdale, Arizona or Chandler, Arizona

Garmin is seeking an Aviation Program Specialist to join their team. This role is responsible for providing technical customer service and support specifically related to transport category aircraft performance and weight & balance activities. The specialist will support customer aircraft configurations, address aircraft performance questions and change requests, and manage aircraft weight & balance changes.
Key Responsibilities:
The Aviation Program Specialist will perform a variety of essential functions, including:
- Serving as the first level of customer contact, receiving and responding to basic questions, inquiries, and requests concerning Garmin’s aircraft performance products.
- Escalating customer needs as required, directing inquiries to the appropriate departments.
- Resolving, tracking, and routing customer issues or requests efficiently.
- Applying program management skills to projects, ensuring communication, scope, effort, milestones, risk management, and strategy align with Garmin’s initiatives, business model, and customer relationships.
- Assisting with providing technical support for Garmin aircraft performance and load planning products.
- Supporting the testing and deployment processes for Garmin products and solutions.
- Contributing to the technical writing and publication of aircraft performance data materials.
- Potentially assisting in the development of customer training materials.
- Supporting project management functions as needed.
- Investigating and determining the root cause of operational events and failures with guidance.
- Identifying issues related to aircraft performance and load planning and supporting the development of corrective actions.
- Assisting in coordinating internal resources to support customer deliverables.
- Coordinating recurring meetings with customers, documenting details, and maintaining related documentation in an organized manner.
- Assisting with the creation of status information to keep internal stakeholders informed of program progress and issues.
- Supporting the analysis of program requirements and collaborating with internal stakeholders to establish effort estimates.
- Communicating work status clearly to provide visibility to supervisors or mentors.
- Working collaboratively and professionally in a team environment to achieve goals.

- Performing on-call duty as required, which may include after-hours coverage.
- Supporting assigned special projects with guidance.

Basic Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace, Business, or a related field OR an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Excellent academic achievement (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 generally expected).
- Demonstrated ability to apply learned knowledge effectively.
- Operational knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) governing aircraft operations.
- Proven capability to perform basic troubleshooting and debugging tasks.
- Project Management experience and a solid understanding of the project lifecycle.
- Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude, and work well with others.
Desired Qualifications:
- Possession of a Private Pilot’s License.
- Strong technical skills and prior experience with aviation technology.
- Previous work experience in Airline or Charter Operations, Air Traffic Control, Flight Dispatching, Flight Operations, or Aviation Program/Project Management.
