Job Summary

Jabil seeks a skilled and professional Pilot to operate its corporate aircraft fleet for business purposes. This role demands the highest levels of safety, professionalism, diplomacy, and confidentiality. The Pilot will report directly to the Aviation Department Manager and is responsible for the safe conduct of company flights, with the Captain holding final authority in aircraft operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving abilities, meet deadlines, and perform efficiently in a dynamic environment, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, local, and foreign regulations, as well as company policies and procedures. As the company's most visible representative to passengers, the flight crew must act with tact and decorum, ensuring an efficient and safe operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute safe flights in accordance with FAA regulations and company policies/procedures.
  • Maintain appropriate logbooks and documentation for both flight and aircraft.
  • Perform pre-flight checks on aircraft to ensure proper airworthiness and operational communications equipment.
  • Manage pilot scheduling in support of global operations.
  • Conduct training sessions for new pilots or existing pilots transitioning to different aircraft types.
  • Comply with security requirements and export control laws/regulations.
  • Monitor weather conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly.
  • Coordinate ground transportation and accommodations for passengers.
  • Interact professionally with internal and external customers, providing updates on flight status, delays, and cancellations.
  • Adhere to the company’s international Travel Policy and other applicable guidelines.
  • Provide unsurpassed customer service to passengers.
  • Comply with schedules and other directives governing aircraft operations, including "pop up" flights.
  • Review weather conditions at destination, en-route, and alternate airports, as well as departure points.
  • Prepare and file flight plans.
  • Review and calculate aircraft weight and balance, fuel on board, and performance charts.
  • Maintain and update charts, publications, and databases as assigned.
  • Proper use of checklists.
  • Supervise the second in command (SIC) in duties necessary for the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of the aircraft (for Captain role).
  • Monitor crew performance, sharing knowledge and encouraging crew resource management (CRM).
  • Make decisions to start, delay, or cancel flights and deviate flights from planned routes or destinations when operating conditions dictate.
  • Maintain records as required by FARs, aircraft manufacturers, and company policies.
  • Log aircraft discrepancies and report them to the maintenance department and the Aviation Department Manager.
  • Ensure preflight and post-flight inspections, including aircraft cleaning, disposal of trash, catering, and coffee, straightening of seatbelts, cleaning of spills, and potentially wiping down engine nacelles and cleaning windshields. Utilize outside services for cleaning if flight schedules do not permit.
  • Submit pilot expenses for approval by the Aviation Department Manager, ensuring expenses remain moderate and conform to Jabil’s travel guidelines.
  • Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with the position and as directed by a supervisor.
  • Comply with and follow all procedures within the company security policy.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current unrestricted U.S. passport or the ability to obtain one.
  • Valid medical certificate (1st or 2nd class).
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Relevant experience flying turboprop aircraft.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of FAR Part 91 and 135 regulations.
  • Familiarity with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) rules and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience flying multi-engine propeller-driven aircraft.
  • Instrument rating.
  • Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL).

Knowledge Requirements

  • Advanced PC skills, including training and knowledge of Jabil’s software packages.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Proficiency in basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) across all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uncomplicated written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
