Job Summary

The Corporate Pilot will be an integral part of the Aviation Operations team, functioning as an on-site employee. Responsibilities include ensuring aircraft airworthiness, validating trip details, conducting pre-flight inspections, managing flight planning, and maintaining operational safety and compliance with all applicable regulations and company procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing the maintenance status of the aircraft.
  • Validating trip details prior to departure.
  • Conducting proper pre-flight inspections in accordance with the Aircraft Flight Manual.
  • Ensuring that the aircraft is airworthy and registered and required documentation is onboard.
  • Checking weather and all applicable NOTAMs where available, and determining fuel, oil, and oxygen requirements.
  • Making decisions necessary to start, delay, or cancel flights and deviate the flight from planned route or destination when operating conditions dictate.
  • Ensuring that all flight-planning requirements have been met.
  • Maintaining currency and proficiency in assigned Flight Department aircraft.
  • Accurate completion of all trip paperwork in accordance with current company procedures.
  • Operating the aircraft per Standard Operating Procedures and within aircraft limitations.
  • Ensuring the flight is conducted in accordance with the policies and procedures of Stanley Black & Decker, applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, and applicable international regulations.
  • Ensuring the safety of all passengers, aircraft, and crew.
  • Ensuring a Passenger Safety Briefing is provided to passengers.
  • Providing excellent customer service to all passengers and crew.
  • Ensuring that the flight will not be commenced if an aircraft crewmember is incapacitated from performing duties by any cause such as injury, sickness, fatigue, or the effects of any psychoactive substance.
  • Ensuring that the flight will not be continued beyond the nearest suitable airport when aircraft crewmembers’ capacity to perform functions is significantly reduced by impairment of faculties from causes such as fatigue, sickness, or lack of oxygen.
  • Complying with schedules and other directives governing the aircraft’s operation.
  • Completing all post-flight duties, including notifying the Company of deviations to any planned itinerary or overnight location.
  • Recording flight times and reporting all known or suspected defects in the aircraft to management and maintenance personnel at the termination of the flight.
  • Ensuring all aircraft documents, checklists, publications, and databases are accurate.
  • Coordinating with the Director of Aviation and Director of Maintenance relating to mechanical repairs and operational status.
  • Reporting all known or suspected FAA violations or incidents to the Chief Pilot as soon as practical.
  • Reporting any act of unlawful interference to the FAA or State, as appropriate, and to the designated local authority.
  • Reporting to the appropriate ATC facility any hazardous weather or flight conditions encountered that are likely to affect the safety of other aircraft.
  • Notifying the appropriate authority by the quickest available means of any accident involving the aircraft.
  • In the event of an accident/incident, preserving flight and cockpit voice recorder data.
  • Remaining knowledgeable of pertinent areas of the Flight Operations Manual (FOM).
  • Ensuring compliance with Customs, Immigration and cabotage laws.
  • Conforming with any nonstandard environmental rules and procedures at the intended departure and destination airports.

Qualifications

  • Total time: 3,000 hours
  • Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time: 1,500 hours
  • Multi-Engine Land (MEL) time: 1,500 hours
  • MEL PIC time: 500 hours
  • Time in Turbo Jet: 500 hours
  • Instrument time: 250 hours
  • Type rated on DA7X (preferred) or comparable aircraft.
  • Extensive international experience (preferred).
  • FAA First Class Medical required.
  • Must be able to work on an on-call basis.
  • Primary residence within a 90-minute drive from KBDL.
