The pilot is responsible for conducting assigned flights in strict accordance with the company's operational manual and all applicable Civil Aviation Authority regulations. They ensure the highest standards of safety, security, and efficiency throughout all flight operations. The pilot provides support and guidance to the flight and cabin crew, manages emergencies and unforeseen situations effectively, and maintains control of the flight to guarantee successful performance and a positive corporate image. Furthermore, the pilot operates aircraft between destinations according to established schedules and approved flight plans, acting as the ultimate authority for the aircraft during assigned flights, prioritizing safety, efficiency, and passenger comfort.
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 750 flying hours on the A320 family of aircraft, with an Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) being preferred. The candidate must hold valid licenses, including a valid Class 1 medical certificate and Instrument Rating (IR). A valid English Language Proficiency (ELP) certification above level 4 is required. An appropriate Commercial Pilot License (CPL) or ATPL (preferred) is necessary. The pilot must successfully pass technical, psychometric, and medical fitness assessments for pilots, as per company and Civil Aviation Authority standards. Formal training in safety and emergency response is essential, and a formal qualification in this area is advantageous. Basic training in airport and security procedures is considered beneficial, as is Crew Resource Management training. Knowledge of IATA principles and standards relating to security is also advantageous. The pilot must demonstrate proficiency in aircraft systems and possess strong skills in Microsoft Office, internet, and web search. Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills are essential, including the ability to produce technical reports and presentations. Experience working with a low-cost airline is highly desirable, though not mandatory.
