Pilot Proficiency Center Instructor Pilot - Part-Time
The Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) is seeking a passionate and experienced Pilot Proficiency Center Instructor Pilot to join its team in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Position Summary:
The Pilot Proficiency Center Instructor Pilot will provide flight and ground instruction to students in accordance with FAA regulations, Airmen's Information Manual, Advisory Circulars, airport operations, and EAA policies, procedures, and curriculum. This role ensures each student meets course standards, training requirements, and objectives, contributing to the development of safe, competent, and proficient pilots.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement EAA Training Course Curriculum for both ground and flight activities.
- Perform flight instructor duties as authorized by Federal Aviation Regulations, adhering to the approved Training Course Curriculum.
- Maintain accurate records, including student training records, logbooks, and computer entries.
- Ensure assigned students meet course standards, training requirements, and objectives.
- Monitor maintenance condition of training aircraft and report any issues to EAA maintenance personnel.
- Provide flight and ground instruction to enrolled students while upholding the highest standards of safety and professionalism.
- Maintain a clean and professional environment within the aircraft and on EAA grounds.
- Embrace and support the EAA mission, prioritizing safe practices in the workplace and aviation environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Certified Flight Instructor - Airplane (CFI) required; medical certification not required.
- Comprehensive knowledge of applicable Federal Aviation Regulations and related administrative and operational procedures.
- Proven ability to apply effective instructional techniques in classroom and flight deck settings.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment while exercising sound judgment consistently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or post-graduate degree program or holding a bachelor's degree.
- Active flight instructor experience.
- Light Sport Aircraft flight training experience.
- Minimum of 100 hours of dual instruction provided.
Physical Requirements:
The role primarily involves a typical office setting with occasional lifting up to 10 pounds. The position is considered sedentary, requiring minimal walking or standing.
Preparation for AirVenture or other events may require lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, extended periods of standing and walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, and pushing/pulling motions.
