About the Role
The Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) is a unique community of aviation enthusiasts passionate about sharing the love of flying, building, and restoring recreational aircraft. The EAA hosts the annual AirVenture Fly-In in Oshkosh, WI, attracting a global audience. This part-time Flight Instructor position is crucial for expanding the pool of instructors, particularly for instructional needs on weekends, occasional nights, and during the summer months. The Instructor Pilot will collaborate with a team of aviation enthusiasts, promoting the EAA mission and maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.
Requirements

Complete all ground and flight activities in accordance with the EAA Training Course Curriculum.

Perform flight instructor duties authorized by Federal Aviation Regulations, following the approved Training Course Curriculum.

Accurately maintain all appropriate records, including student training records, student logbooks, computer records, and all required endorsements.

Ensure that all assigned students meet course standards, training requirements, and objectives.

Monitor the maintenance condition of training aircraft and inform EAA maintenance personnel of any questionable items.

Provide flight and ground instruction to enrolled students while upholding the highest level of safety and instructional standards.

Maintain a clean, professional environment, both within the aircraft and on EAA grounds.

Embrace and support the EAA mission, performing safe practices in the workplace and aviation environment.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications

Certified Flight Instructor – Airplane (CFI) is required; a medical certificate is not required for this instructional role.

Demonstrated knowledge of appropriate Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and related administrative and operational procedures and requirements.

Proven knowledge of and ability to apply effective instructional techniques in both classroom and flight deck environments.

Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment while consistently exercising sound judgment.
Preferred Qualifications

Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or post-undergraduate degree program, or holding a bachelor’s degree.

Actively instructing.

Experience in Light Sport Aircraft (LSA) flight training.

A minimum of 100 hours of dual instruction given.
