Software Instructor – DoD Aviation & Command and Control Systems

The Role
The Software Instructor will become an integral member of the Technical Data & Training (TD&T) department. This dynamic, fast-paced environment involves close collaboration with Design (software and hardware), Logistics, Reliability, Human Factors engineers, and program leadership. The primary objective of this position is to develop and deliver a comprehensive software training program designed to equip international customers with the essential skills to program, patch, compile, and test software for seamless integration onto the COBRA Command and Control (C2) Center.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive training to personnel on the identification, troubleshooting, and remediation of complex software issues.
- Collaborate closely with software programmers and test and integration teams to achieve proficiency in coding, testing, and integrating software updates for the COBRA Command and Control Center, thereby ensuring effective instruction.
- Contribute to the development, installation, integration, and rigorous testing of software updates destined for customer delivery for the COBRA Command and Control Center.
- Evolve into a Subject Matter Expert (SME), capable of conducting skills gap analyses and subsequently designing, developing, and implementing a tailored curriculum to enable customer personnel to independently code, test software updates and scripts, and integrate modifications into the COBRA Command and Control Center operational software baseline organically.
- Provide clear, concise, and timely project status updates to the COBRA Command and Control Center Training Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree in Computer Science with at least five (5) years of experience.
- Demonstrated working knowledge in at least two of the following programming languages: C++, C, Java, HTML/XML, or Fortran.
- Expert proficiency in structured programming techniques.
- Extensive knowledge of Instructional System Design (ISD) principles, particularly rooted in the Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate (ADDIE) methodology.
- Working knowledge of Agile development methodologies.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Proven problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Ability to utilize basic manual tools.
- U.S. Citizenship is a mandatory requirement for this position.
Desired Qualifications
- Practitioner-level knowledge of software programming languages, testing, and integration processes.
- Prior experience in programming, testing, and integrating software specifically for military systems.
- Certification as a Military Instructor (Navy, Army, or USAF) coupled with programming experience.
