Position Summary

Executive Jet Management, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Pilot in Command (PIC) for a Gulfstream 650 aircraft based in Columbus, OH (KCMH). This is a dedicated 3-pilot account supported by an assigned Maintenance Technician and Cabin Attendant. Operating under Part 91, the account typically flies approximately 275 hours annually with a known schedule. The ideal candidate will possess a G650 type rating and significant experience in the aircraft, residing within two hours of Columbus, OH. The Pilot in Command holds ultimate responsibility for ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the aircraft on all flights. This role requires adherence to all company and regulatory requirements while consistently delivering an exceptional service experience to clients.

Key Responsibilities

The Pilot in Command is responsible for a range of critical duties to ensure flight safety, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and outstanding customer service. These responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring all crewing and trip assignments meet company and regulatory standards.
  • Completing comprehensive flight planning, performance calculations, and weight and balance tasks for each assignment.
  • Leading required briefings using Threats, Plans and Considerations (TPC) methodology to effectively mitigate operational risks.
  • Strictly adhering to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordinating proactively with company personnel as necessary.
  • Serving as the Grounds Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator in accordance with company policy.
  • Performing thorough aircraft pre-flight inspections, including verification of the aircraft's maintenance status, to confirm mission readiness. Accurately recording all aircraft discrepancies following company SOPs.
  • Monitoring and overseeing all aircraft ground servicing activities, such as fueling, oil, and oxygen replenishment, to ensure compliance with SOPs.
  • Conducting passenger briefings as required by company policy and regulations. Delivering the highest standard of customer service and accommodating any special passenger needs, including those with physical challenges.
  • Effectively utilizing Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) to maintain clear and timely communication with the flight crew and support personnel during normal, abnormal, and emergency situations.
  • Providing quality service to aircraft owners and passengers, actively identifying opportunities to enhance the EJM service experience. Investigating and resolving service deviations promptly.
  • Collaborating effectively with fellow crew members and internal EJM teams to ensure a consistent and superior service experience for owners and passengers. Resolving conflicts and challenges in a professional and acceptable manner.
  • Maintaining all required regulatory and company training qualifications and ensuring recency of experience requirements are met.
  • Complying with the company's Safety Management System (SMS) program and reporting any safety or non-compliance concerns through appropriate channels.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience (KSAOs)

Qualified candidates for the Pilot in Command role will possess:

  • Prior experience in corporate/business aviation is preferred.
  • Possession of an FAA Type rating in the applicable fleet (Gulfstream 650).
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Minimum Flight Time Requirements:
    • Total flight time: 3500 hours
    • Multi Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours
    • Pilot in Command (PIC): 2000 hours
    • PIC MEL: 500 hours
    • Instrument: 300 hours
    • Jet: 500 hours
