Compensation and Benefits for Cargo First Officer

Etihad Airways offers a highly competitive, tax-free annual remuneration package for Cargo First Officers, reflecting the specialized demands of cargo operations. The package includes:

  • Base Salary: AED 216,000 (USD 58,815) per annum.
  • Monthly productivity pay.
  • Variable pay.
  • Annual incentive of up to AED 16,500 (USD 4,492), based on a 175-day working pattern.

Role Responsibilities of a First Officer

As a First Officer, the incumbent will be an integral member of the flight deck team, working collaboratively with the Captain to ensure the safe, secure, and efficient operation of all flights. The role demands professionalism, technical expertise, and strong teamwork, with a focus on developing leadership capabilities for future command roles.

  • Assist the Captain in all flight preparation, navigation, and operational duties, ensuring strict adherence to Etihad's operating procedures and all regulatory standards.
  • Conduct continuous and independent monitoring of aircraft position, terrain, and weather conditions to ensure safe navigation at all times.
  • Provide clear, effective communication and expert advice to the Captain to facilitate sound and efficient decision-making.
  • Uphold the highest standards of discipline, professional conduct, and personal presentation, representing Etihad Airways with distinction in all environments.
  • Assume command responsibilities in the event of Captain incapacitation, in accordance with rank and established company procedures.

Qualifications and Requirements for Cargo First Officer

Candidates must meet either Criteria A or Criteria B, in addition to the General Eligibility criteria outlined below.

Criteria A

  • Minimum 2,500 hours of total flying time.
  • Minimum 1,500 hours on multi-crew, glass-cockpit aircraft.
  • Minimum 1,000 hours on any Boeing aircraft.

Criteria B

  • Minimum 3,000 hours of total flying time.
  • Minimum 2,000 hours on Boeing aircraft.

General Eligibility

  • Currently flying on a Boeing aircraft, or have done so within the last 12 months.
  • Possess a valid Boeing aircraft type rating with at least 2 months of validity upon the date of joining.
  • Hold an unrestricted ATPL or frozen ATPL issued by an ICAO member state.
  • Possess an unrestricted, current Class 1 medical certificate.
  • Must be under 50 years of age on the date of joining.
  • English Language Proficiency: Level 4 or above (written and verbal).

Note: Glass Cockpit refers to aircraft equipped with a Flight Management System (FMS) integrated with an Autopilot Flight Director System (APFDS). A Frozen ATPL (CPL) must include documented results of the ATPL Theoretical Knowledge Exam and an Integrated ATPL Course Completion Certificate.
