What We Offer

A competitive, tax-free annual package includes basic salary, flying pay, housing allowance, and layover and meal allowances. The potential annual earnings can reach up to AED 513,732 (USD 138,318) based on 75 flying hours per month. The Role

As a First Officer, you will be an integral member of the flight deck team, supporting the Captain in the safe, secure, and efficient operation of all flights. The role requires professionalism, technical proficiency, and strong teamwork, with opportunities to develop leadership capabilities for future command.

  • Assist the Captain in all flight preparation, navigation, and operational aspects, ensuring adherence to Etihad's operating procedures and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct continuous and independent checks of aircraft position, terrain, and weather to ensure safe navigation.
  • Provide clear communication, advice, and support to the Captain to facilitate safe and efficient decision-making.
  • Uphold high standards of discipline, conduct, and professional appearance.
  • Assume command in the event of Captain incapacitation, in accordance with rank and company procedures.

Candidate Requirements

Candidates must meet either Criteria A or Criteria B, in addition to the General Eligibility criteria.

Criteria A

  • Minimum 2,500 hours total flying time.
  • Minimum 1,500 hours on multi-crew, glass cockpit aircraft.
  • Minimum 1,000 hours on any Airbus Wide Body FBW or Boeing Wide body aircraft.

Criteria B

  • Minimum 3,000 hours total flying time.
  • Minimum 2,000 hours on any Airbus Wide Body FBW or Boeing Wide body aircraft.

General Eligibility

  • Must have flown any Airbus Wide Body FBW or Boeing Wide body aircraft within the last 12 months.
  • Must possess a valid type rating on any Airbus Wide Body FBW or Boeing Wide body aircraft, valid for at least 2 more months at the time of joining.
  • Must hold an unrestricted ATPL or a valid frozen ATPL issued by an ICAO member state.
  • Must possess an unrestricted, current Class 1 medical certificate.
  • Must not have attained the age of 50 on the day of joining.
  • Must demonstrate English language fluency (written and verbal) at ICAO Level 4 or better.

Note: Holders of a Frozen ATPL License (CPL) must present the results of the ATPL Theoretical Knowledge Exam and an integrated ATPL course completion certificate.
