Co-Pilot Position at Etihad Airways
Job Description
This position requires a highly skilled and experienced aviation professional to contribute to the safe and efficient operation of Etihad Airways aircraft. The Co-Pilot is responsible for assisting the Commander in all aspects of flight operations, ensuring the safety and security of the aircraft, passengers, and cargo.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety and Security: The Co-Pilot is responsible for maintaining the safety and security of the aircraft and cargo, within the scope of their duties, particularly in the absence of the Commander.
- Operational Familiarity: Maintain a thorough understanding of Etihad Airways' Operations Manual, ensuring compliance with all procedures and regulations, to perform duties both professionally and safely.
- Administrative Support: Provide assistance to the Commander in handling administrative duties related to the flight.
- Crew Discipline and Conduct: Support the Commander in maintaining a high standard of crew discipline, conduct, and personal appearance.
- Flight Execution: Carry out flight-related duties as allocated by the Commander, adhering to Etihad Airways' operational policies and procedures.
- Navigation Monitoring: Ensure safe navigation of the aircraft by independently verifying its geographical position and ensuring clearance from terrain and weather hazards.
- Flight Plan Compliance: Execute the flight in accordance with the current flight plan, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and the Commander's instructions when not at the controls. Notify the Commander of any changes to the flight plan, Air Traffic Control (ATC) instructions, or geographical position upon their return to the controls.
- Advice and Assistance: Provide timely and accurate advice, information, and assistance to the Commander, as required, to support the safe and efficient conduct of the flight.
- Professional Representation: Maintain a high personal standard of discipline, conduct, and appearance, representing Etihad Airways with professionalism at all times.
- Commander Incapacitation: In the event of the Commander's incapacitation, the highest-ranking Co-Pilot assigned to the flight will assume command.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2500 hours of total flying time.
- Minimum 1500 hours on multi-crew, glass cockpit, or high-performance military jet aircraft.
- Minimum 500 hours on any Boeing aircraft.
- Current on any Boeing aircraft.
- Current and unrestricted ICAO ATPL (Frozen ATPLs are not accepted unless held by a UAE citizen).
- Unrestricted, current Class 1 medical certificate.
- Maximum age limit of 50 years old.
- English language fluency (written and verbal) at Level 4 or above.
- 75% of hours accumulated on flights with inflight relief will be counted towards the minimum requirement.
Salary and Benefits:
- Fixed Pay: AED 18,000 per month.
- Variable Pay:
- Flying day rate: AED 1,080
- Other operating day rate: AED 500
- Layover (HOTAC & Transport): Provided
- Monthly Productivity Pay:
- < 12 days: AED 0
- 12-13 days: AED 2,475
- 14-15 days: AED 3,700
- >= 16 days: AED 6,180
- Annual Performance Incentive:
- < 150 days: AED 0
- 150-159 days: AED 6,300
- 160-174 days: AED 9,450
- >= 175 days: AED 16,500
- Annual Leave: 2 working days of annual leave for each month where a minimum of 12 total operated days have been worked (capped at 20 days per year).
