Job Description

This aviation professional is responsible for the safety and security of the aircraft and cargo, particularly in the absence of the Commander. The individual maintains a thorough understanding of Etihad’s Operations Manual to execute their duties professionally and safely. They assist the Commander with administrative tasks related to the flight, and support the maintenance of high standards of crew discipline, conduct, and appearance. The role involves carrying out flight duties according to Etihad's policies and procedures as assigned by the Commander. This includes confirming the safe navigation of the aircraft, conducting continuous and independent checks of the aircraft's position, ensuring safe terrain and weather clearance. They are to conduct the flight in accordance with the flight plan, SOPs, and the Commander’s instructions, and notify the Commander of any changes to the flight plan, ATC, or geographical position upon their return to controls. The individual provides advice, information, and assistance to the Commander to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the flight. Maintaining a high personal standard of discipline, conduct, and appearance is also required at all times. In the event of Commander incapacitation, the highest-ranking Co-Pilot assumes command.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 2,500 hours of total flying time, including at least 1,500 hours on multi-crew, glass cockpit, or high-performance military jet aircraft, with 500 hours on any Boeing aircraft. A current type rating on any Boeing aircraft is required. Candidates must hold a current and unrestricted ICAO ATPL (Frozen ATPLs are not accepted unless held by a UAE citizen), and possess a current, unrestricted Class 1 medical certificate. The maximum age limit for this position is 50 years old. The candidate must demonstrate English language proficiency (written and verbal) at Level 4 or higher. For flight hours accumulated with in-flight relief, 75% of total hours will be considered towards the required minimums.

Salary and Benefits

The base salary for this position is AED 18,000 per month, with a flying day rate of AED 1,080 and an operating day rate of AED 500. Layover accommodations and transport will be provided. Monthly productivity pay is as follows: under 12 days (0 AED), 12-13 days (AED 2,475), 14-15 days (AED 3,700), and 16 days or more (AED 6,180). Annual performance incentives are available: less than 150 days (0 AED), 150-159 days (AED 6,300), 160-174 days (AED 9,450), and 175 days or more (AED 16,500). The individual will accrue two working days of annual leave for each month where a minimum of 12 days have been worked (capped at 20 days annually). Private medical insurance with worldwide coverage is provided to the employee. Additional benefits include staff travel, end-of-service, accidental, and life insurance.
