Aviation Co-Pilot
Aviation Co-Pilots are responsible for the safety and security of the aircraft, passengers, and cargo on board, within the scope of their duties, and shall assume command in the absence of the Commander.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains familiarity with Etihad’s Operations Manual as necessary to fulfill their function professionally and safely.
- Assists the Commander as requested concerning administrative duties related to the flight.
- Supports the Commander in maintaining a proper standard of crew discipline, conduct, and personal appearance.
- Executes duties concerning the flight in accordance with Etihad’s operating policies and procedures, as allocated by the Commander.
- Confirms the safe navigation of the aircraft, maintaining a continuous and independent check upon the geographical position of the aircraft, ensuring safe terrain and weather clearance.
- Conducts the flight in compliance with the current flight plan, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and the Commander’s instructions when the Commander is not at the controls; subsequently notifies the Commander of any changes to the flight plan, Air Traffic Control (ATC) instructions, or geographical position upon their return.
- Provides advice, information, and assistance to the Commander, as required, contributing favorably towards the safe and efficient conduct of the flight.
- Maintains a high personal standard of discipline, conduct, and appearance as a representative of Etihad Airways at all times.
- In the event of Commander incapacitation, the highest-ranking Co-Pilot assigned to the flight assumes command.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2500 hours total flying time is required.
- A minimum of 1500 hours on multi-crew, glass cockpit, or high-performance military jet is required.
- 500 hours should be on any Boeing aircraft.
- Must be current on any Boeing aircraft type.
- Possession of a current and unrestricted ICAO ATPL is mandatory. Frozen ATPLs are not accepted unless held by a UAE citizen.
- Must hold an unrestricted, current Class 1 medical certificate.
- Maximum age limit is 50 years old.
- English language fluency (written and verbal) at Level 4 or better is required.
- For flight hours accumulated on flights with in-flight relief, 75% of the total hours will be counted towards the required minimums.
Salary and Benefits:
- Fixed monthly salary of AED 26,000.
- Flight duty allowance:
- 1-6 years of service: AED 40 per block hour
- 7-18 years of service: AED 56 per block hour
- Meal allowance during layovers as per the following rates:
- Middle East/ GCC/ Sub Continent: AED 12 per hour
- Asia/ Far East: AED 15 per hour
- Africa/ Australasia: AED 18 per hour
- Europe/ Americas: AED 23 per hour
- Housing allowance up to AED 160,000 per year.
- Education allowance of AED 40,000 for primary and AED 55,000 for secondary education (up to 3 children).
