First Officer Position – Etihad Airways
Etihad Airways seeks a highly skilled and experienced First Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the aircraft, passengers, and cargo, acting as a crucial member of the flight crew. In the absence of the Commander, the First Officer will assume command.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a thorough understanding of Etihad’s Operations Manual and apply this knowledge to ensure professional and safe flight operations.
- Provide administrative support to the Commander as required.
- Assist the Commander in maintaining the highest standards of crew discipline, conduct, and professional appearance.
- Execute flight duties according to Etihad’s operating policies and procedures, as directed by the Commander.
- Independently monitor the aircraft's geographical position, ensuring safe terrain and weather clearance.
- Conduct flights in strict compliance with the flight plan, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and the Commander's instructions (when the Commander is not at the controls). Promptly inform the Commander of any changes to the flight plan, Air Traffic Control (ATC) communications, or geographical position upon their return to the controls.
- Provide prompt and helpful advice, information, and assistance to the Commander to contribute to the safe and efficient conduct of the flight.
- Maintain exemplary personal discipline, conduct, and appearance, acting as a professional representative of Etihad Airways at all times.
- Assume command in the event of Commander incapacitation (for the highest-ranking Co-Pilot assigned).
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2500 hours total flight time.
- Minimum 1500 hours on multi-crew, glass cockpit, or high-performance military jet aircraft.
- 500 hours on any Boeing aircraft.
- Current type rating on any Boeing aircraft.
- Current and unrestricted ICAO ATPL (Frozen ATPLs are not accepted unless held by a UAE citizen).
- Current and unrestricted Class 1 medical certificate.
- Maximum age of 50 years.
- English language fluency (written and verbal) – Level 4 or better.
- For hours accumulated on flights with in-flight relief, 75% of the total hours will be considered towards the minimum requirements.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Fixed monthly salary: AED 26,000.
- Flight duty allowance: AED 40 per block hour (1-6 years of service); AED 56 per block hour (7-18 years of service).
- Meal allowance during layovers: AED 12 per hour (Middle East/GCC/Subcontinent); AED 15 per hour (Asia/Far East); AED 18 per hour (Africa/Australasia); AED 23 per hour (Europe/Americas).
- Housing allowance: Up to AED 160,000 per year.
- Education allowance: AED 40,000 for primary education and AED 55,000 for secondary education (up to 3 children).
