First Officer - Etihad Airways
Etihad Airways is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated First Officer to join its esteemed flight operations team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of each flight, working in close collaboration with the Commander. This position demands a commitment to excellence, a strong understanding of aviation principles, and adherence to the highest standards of professionalism.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain paramount responsibility for the safety and security of the aircraft, passengers, and cargo, within the scope of their duties and in the absence of the Commander.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Etihad's Operations Manual, utilizing it to fulfill duties professionally and safely.
- Provide assistance to the Commander in all aspects of flight-related administrative tasks, as requested.
- Support the Commander in upholding a high standard of crew discipline, conduct, and personal appearance, reflecting positively on Etihad Airways.
- Execute all allocated flight duties in strict accordance with Etihad's operating policies and procedures, as assigned by the Commander.
- Ensure the safe navigation of the aircraft through continuous and independent monitoring of its geographical position, confirming safe terrain and weather clearance.
- When not at the controls, conduct the flight in full compliance with the current flight plan, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and the Commander's instructions; promptly notifying the Commander of any deviations or changes upon their return to duty.
- Offer any advice, information, and assistance to the Commander without hesitation that may contribute positively towards the safe and efficient operation of the flight.
- Maintain an exemplary standard of personal discipline, conduct, and appearance at all times, serving as a distinguished representative of Etihad Airways.
- In the event of Commander incapacitation, assume command of the flight if designated as the highest ranking Co-Pilot.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2500 hours of total flight time is required.
- A minimum of 1500 hours must be on multi-crew, glass cockpit aircraft (equipped with FMS coupled to APFDS), or high-performance military jet aircraft.
- A minimum of 1000 hours of the total flight time must be on one of the following aircraft types: A330, A340, A350, or A380.
- Must hold a valid type rating on any Airbus Fly-by-Wire (FBW) aircraft, with a minimum of two months validity remaining at the time of joining.
- Possess a current and unrestricted ICAO Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL). Frozen ATPLs are not accepted, except for those held by UAE citizens.
- Must have flown any Airbus FBW aircraft within the last 12 months.
- Must hold a current, unrestricted Class 1 Medical Certificate.
- The maximum age for this position is 50 years old.
- Demonstrated English Language Fluency (written and verbal) at a minimum level of 4.
- When calculating hours accumulated on flights with in-flight relief, 75% of the total hours will be counted towards the required minimums.
Salary & Benefits:
- A competitive fixed monthly salary of AED 26,000.
- Flight duty allowance:
- AED 40 per block hour for 1-6 years of service.
- AED 56 per block hour for 7-10 years of service.
- Meal allowance during layovers, calculated hourly at the following rates:
- Middle East/GCC/Sub Continent: AED 12 per hour
- Asia/Far East: AED 15 per hour
- Africa/Australasia: AED 18 per hour
- Europe/Americas: AED 23 per hour
- Housing allowance of up to AED 160,000 per year.
- Education allowance of AED 40,000 per year for primary and AED 55,000 for secondary, covering up to three children.
