Job Description:
The Co-Pilot plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of all flights. This individual will work directly with the Commander to maintain the highest standards of professionalism and operational excellence.
Responsibilities include:
- Sharing responsibility for the safety and security of the aircraft, passengers, and cargo on board. Assuming command in the absence of the Commander.
- Maintaining a thorough understanding of Etihad's Operations Manual and adhering to all safety and procedural guidelines.
- Providing administrative support to the Commander as needed.
- Supporting the Commander in maintaining proper crew discipline, conduct, and appearance.
- Carrying out all duties assigned by the Commander in accordance with Etihad's operating policies and procedures.
- Ensuring safe navigation by continuously and independently monitoring the aircraft's geographical position, terrain clearance, and weather conditions.
- Conducting the flight in compliance with the flight plan, Standard Operating Procedures, and the Commander's instructions.
- Informing the Commander of any changes to the flight plan, Air Traffic Control directives, or geographical position.
- Offering advice, information, and assistance to the Commander to contribute to the safe and efficient execution of the flight.
- Maintaining a high personal standard of discipline, conduct, and appearance as a representative of Etihad Airways.
- Assuming command in the event of Commander incapacitation, should the Co-Pilot hold the highest rank on board.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2,500 hours total flying time.
- Minimum 1,500 hours on multi-crew, glass cockpit (aircraft with FMS coupled to APFDS) or high-performance military jet.
- Minimum 1,000 hours on one of the following: Airbus A330, A340, A350, or A380.
- Valid type rating on Airbus A330, A340, A350, or A380 for a minimum of two months at the time of joining.
- Current and unrestricted ICAO ATPL (Frozen ATPL not accepted unless held by a UAE citizen).
- Flight experience on any Airbus Fly-By-Wire aircraft within the last 12 months.
- Unrestricted, current Class 1 medical certificate.
- Maximum age limit of 50 years old.
- English language fluency (written and verbal) at Level 4 or better.
- Note: For hours accumulated on flights with inflight relief, 75% of the total hours will be counted towards the required minimums.
Salary & Benefits:
Etihad Airways offers a competitive compensation and benefits package commensurate with experience and qualifications.
- Fixed monthly salary of AED 26,000.
- Flight duty allowance:
- 1-6 years of service: AED 40 per block hour.
- 7-10 years of service: AED 56 per block hour.
- Meal allowance during layovers based on region:
- Middle East/GCC/Subcontinent: AED 12 per hour.
- Asia/Far East: AED 15 per hour.
- Africa/Australasia: AED 18 per hour.
- Europe/Americas: AED 23 per hour.
- Annual housing allowance up to AED 160,000.
- Education allowance for up to three children (AED 36,000 for primary and AED 50,400 for secondary).
