Co-Pilot Position at Etihad Airways
This position requires a highly skilled and experienced individual to contribute to the safe and efficient operation of Etihad Airways flights. The Co-Pilot is responsible for assisting the Commander in ensuring the safety and security of the aircraft, passengers, and cargo.
Responsibilities:
- Assume responsibility for the safety and security of the aircraft, passengers, and cargo, as far as their duties are concerned, in the absence of the Commander.
- Maintain familiarity with Etihad Airways’ Operations Manual to fulfill their duties professionally and safely.
- Assist the Commander with administrative duties related to the flight as requested.
- Support the Commander in maintaining a high standard of crew discipline, conduct, and personal appearance.
- Carry out duties allocated by the Commander, in accordance with Etihad Airways’ operating policies and procedures.
- Confirm the safe navigation of the aircraft, continuously and independently monitoring the geographical position of the aircraft to ensure safe terrain and weather clearance.
- Conduct the flight in compliance with the current flight plan, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and the Commander’s instructions when the Commander is not at the controls. Notify the Commander of any changes to the current flight plan, Air Traffic Control (ATC) instructions, or geographical position upon the Commander’s return.
- Provide advice, information, and assistance to the Commander, without hesitation, to contribute favorably towards the safe and efficient conduct of the flight.
- Maintain a high personal standard of discipline, conduct, and appearance as a representative of Etihad Airways at all times.
- In the event of the Commander’s incapacitation, the highest-ranking Co-Pilot assigned to the flight will assume command.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2500 hours total flying time.
- Minimum of 1500 hours on multi-crew, glass cockpit (1) or high-performance military jet.
- Minimum of 1000 hours on one of the following aircraft: A330, A340, A350, or A380.
- Valid Type Rating on any Airbus FBW for a minimum of 2 months at the time of joining.
- Current and unrestricted ICAO ATPL. Frozen ATPLs are not accepted unless held by a UAE citizen.
- Experience flying any Airbus FBW within the last 12 months.
- Unrestricted, current Class 1 medical certificate.
- Maximum age limit of 50 years old.
- English language fluency (written and verbal) at Level 4 or better.
- In cases where hours accumulated on flights with inflight relief, 75% of the total hours will be counted towards the required minimums.
(1) Glass Cockpit: Aircraft with a Flight Management System (FMS) coupled to Automatic Pilot Flight Director System (APFDS)
Salary & Benefits:
- Fixed pay of AED 26,000 per month.
- Flight duty allowance:
- 1-6 years of service: AED 40 per block hour
- 7-10 years of service: AED 56 per block hour
- Meal allowance during layovers, based on the following rates:
- Middle East/ GCC/ Sub Continent: AED 12 per hour
- Asia/ Far East: AED 15 per hour
- Africa/ Australasia: AED 18 per hour
- Europe/ Americas: AED 23 per hour
- Housing allowance up to AED 160,000 per year.
- Education allowance of AED 40,000 for primary and AED 55,000 for secondary education, up to 3 children.
