Overview:
Delta Professional Services is seeking a part-time Flight Operations Support individual to serve as a Duty Pilot. This role provides subject matter expertise and support to key projects and needs within Flight Training & Standards and Delta Professional Services. The position operates on an ‘as needed’ basis, requiring a basic understanding of FAA Part 121 air carrier operations and moderate to expert knowledge in specific areas of focus. The Duty Pilot reports to the DPS Manager of Delta Flight Training Operations.
Duty Pilots are integral to the Line Operations department of Flight Operations, working within the Operations and Customer Center (OCC) and the ATL Airport Customer Center (ACC). This desk provides 24/7, 365-day coverage through three daily shifts. Duty Pilots are scheduled to work approximately 10-14 shifts per month in the OCC or ACC, located at Delta's General Offices or ACC in Atlanta, GA.
Shift Hours:
- Day: 0600 - 1430
- Evening: 1430 - 2300
- Night: 2300 - 0600
Responsibilities:
The Duty Pilot's essential functions include:
- Serving as the primary day-to-day point of contact for pilots regarding operational issues.
- Providing crucial support to pilots during safety-related events, flights requiring MCC input, or conflict resolution.
- Coordinating cross-divisionally within the OCC/ACC to address operational challenges.
- Connecting pilots with the CPO and other relevant departments for problem resolution.
- Monitoring communication channels to identify and mitigate potential operational impacts.
- Analyzing flight schedules and coordinating with ACS to identify flights that may alter operations.
- Monitoring and assisting with DOT 3/4 compliance requirements.
- Assessing pushback delays for accuracy and identifying relevant trends.

Minimum Qualifications:
The successful candidate must demonstrate:

- Possession of a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have authorization to work in the United States.
- Crucially, candidates must have previously been a Delta pilot to be considered for this role.

- Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Office 365 and other Delta/DPS software.
