Aviation Co-op - Crew Resources Support
Overview and Key Responsibilities
The Pilot Resources department is seeking a dedicated Co-op student to provide comprehensive administrative support across all facets of Crew Resources. This role is instrumental in managing critical pilot-related functions, including but not limited to, the administration of pilot leaves of absence, processing retirements, verifying outside flying experience, and onboarding new pilot hires.
This co-op opportunity requires a commitment to a minimum of three rotations: Summer 2026, Spring 2027, and Fall 2027.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Assists with pilot rotation and schedule updates, maintaining critical data within the Database Management System (DBMS) and personnel files.
- Conducts analysis and research to support Crew Resources initiatives, OE training planning, scheduling strategic objectives, and assists with ALPA reporting requirements.
- Identifies specific training requirements for pilots returning from leave or awarded through an Advance Entitlement.
- Provides exemplary customer service to pilots, Chief Pilot Offices, Labor Relations, and ALPA by responding to inquiries received via the Crew Resources email and addressing phone calls related to category and staffing information.
- Ensures the accuracy and distribution of pay protection to pilots. Verifies the accuracy of pilot assignment files and job codes. Manages pilot Vacation, Training, and Sick (VTS) files and processes schedule blocking requests.
- Demonstrates the ability to identify and develop new or improved processes to adapt to operational changes, contributing to enhanced efficiencies within pilot resources and scheduling.
- Quickly familiarizes with and applies knowledge of the Pilot Working Agreement (PWA), Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), DBMS, SAP, and OSS.
- Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
This co-op position is designed to provide educational and professional work experience to prepare individuals for the workforce. It does not guarantee full-time employment upon graduation.
- Must be actively enrolled in an undergraduate Bachelor's degree program.
- Requires a commitment to work for three alternating semesters. Note: Actively taking courses (online or in-person) concurrently with this co-op role is not permitted and may delay graduation by 1-2 semesters.
