Flight Instructor (CFII)

Cirrus Aircraft is searching for an exceptional aviation professional to join its team as a Flight Instructor. The successful candidate will provide industry-leading, learner-centric flight training to Cirrus customers, delivering instruction in the iconic Cirrus SR model aircraft. The instructor reports directly to the Flight Operations Supervisor. The standard shift operates Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, though flexibility may be required for corporate duties or training demands.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Flight Instructor serves a crucial dual function, operating as both a standardized educator and a professional Pilot in Command (PIC). Responsibilities include:
Flight Instruction and Standardization
- Providing world-class flight and ground instruction in accordance with Cirrus policy and procedure documents, utilizing proprietary course materials and a structured syllabus.
- Conducting comprehensive training events following established program guidance and regulatory requirements.
- Assessing pilot performance across the psychomotor, cognitive, and affective domains during each training event.
- Customizing training events to effectively meet the unique needs and progression pace of individual students.
- Meticulously recording all training activities and results within pilot training records.
- Recommending students for FAA written and practical tests upon achieving proficiency.
- Continuously enhancing flight safety by providing excellent, high-quality, and standardized instruction.
- Identifying and communicating pilot progression opportunities, managing complex problem solving, and recommending process improvements.
Pilot in Command (PIC) and Corporate Operations
- Acting as Pilot in Command of Cirrus aircraft while performing 14 CFR Part 91 corporate flight operations, including demonstration flights, internal training flights, ferry flights, repositioning, and post-maintenance check flights.
- Making timely and accurate decisions regarding the safety of flight, adhering strictly to all established industry and Cirrus safety procedures and policies.
- Performing essential aircraft management duties, including normal pre-flight and post-flight inspections, cleaning, fueling, adding oil and de-ice fluid, and updating chart subscriptions.
- Processing and maintaining a deep level of aircraft knowledge to serve as a model aviator, flight instructor, and professional Cirrus representative.
Required Qualifications and Experience
To perform this job successfully, the individual must meet the following minimum requirements:
- A minimum of one year of professional pilot experience is required.
- A minimum of 350 dual given hours, OR 250 dual given hours in Cirrus aircraft is required.
- Current FAA Flight Instructor Certificate (CFII) with Instrument Airplane and Airplane Single Engine ratings.
- Current FAA Pilot Certificate (Commercial, at minimum) with Commercial Airplane Single Engine Land and Instrument Airplane ratings.
- Current Second-class Airman Medical Certificate or higher.
- Exceptional ability to provide professional customer service and effective communication with diverse audiences.
Preferred Experience
- Extensive experience in IFR operations in congested airspace, mountain flying, and instrument meteorological conditions (IMC).
- Previous experience with international flight and night operations.
