The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists for a highly qualified JTAC Instructor/Operator to contribute to critical aviation training initiatives. This role involves operating state-of-the-art Fire Support/Terminal Attack Control simulators and delivering expert instruction for Close Air Support (CAS) familiarization. The successful candidate will be instrumental in planning, developing, scheduling, and synchronizing all aspects of JTAC trainer/simulator operations, crafting realistic and challenging training scenarios aligned with supported command operational objectives. Furthermore, this position supports the integration of Live, Virtual, Constructive, Gaming (LVCG) and Synthetic Training Environment (STE) systems, and the simulation/emulation of advanced JTAC and Forward Observer targeting devices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver Terminal Attack Control academic instruction in accordance with USSOCOM 350-5 and the JTAC Memorandum of Agreement (MOA).
  • Provide comprehensive academic and practical instruction across all facets of Fire Support, including Terminal Attack Control (TAC), Naval Gunfire, Call for Fire, AC-130 operations, and Attack Aviation.
  • Operate Fire Support/Terminal Attack Control simulators to instruct USSOCOM JTACs, trainees, and personnel requiring Close Air Support (CAS) familiarization.
  • Manage the planning, development, scheduling, and synchronization of the JTAC Trainer, designing engaging simulator training scenarios that meet the unit’s Designed Operational Capabilities Statement.
  • Attend relevant simulator and operational conferences to maintain expertise in current software and hardware applications.
  • Research and integrate emerging operational tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) into unit training programs.
  • Maintain required JTAC qualifications and currency in accordance with the JTAC MOA.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and standard office automation tools.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of principles, concepts, practices, and standards governing JTAC training simulators.
  • Work effectively at customer facilities, adapting to both conventional and austere operational environments.
  • Undertake travel as necessary to support operating command requirements.
  • Conduct instruction, training, and education in field environments, enduring seasonal variations and adverse weather conditions.
  • Facilitate training and education in field settings requiring transit via watercraft, aircraft, and/or ground vehicles.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Active Secret Security Clearance with TS/SCI eligibility.
  • Certification as a Joint Terminal Attack Controller Instructor or Evaluator (JTAC-I/E) obtained while serving in the United States Armed Forces.
  • Demonstrated operational JTAC experience with Special Operations Forces (SOF).
  • Proven experience in planning, coordinating, and employing lethal and non-lethal force.
  • Proficiency with JTAC simulators, simulation software, and training aids.
  • Strong command of Military air-ground communication systems.

Desired:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Training and experience with Modern Air Combat Environment (MACE).
  • Training and experience with Joint Terminal Control Training Rehearsal System (JTC TRS).
  • Training and experience with HAVIK Joint Fires Trainer.
  • Training and experience with Joint Fires Battlespace Simulations.

Estimated Salary Range: $61,600 - $129,300 annually. (Note: Actual salary is determined by various factors including location, contract specifics, experience, skills, and education.)
