160th SOAR Mission Flight Instructor - Training Opportunity
Job Overview
CACI-SOAS is seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to serve as a 160th SOAR Mission Flight Instructor. This full-time position, requiring a Secret security clearance, offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the training and development of elite aviators within the U.S. Army Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne).
Responsibilities
The 160th SOAR Mission Flight Instructor will play a critical role in training, educating, coaching, mentoring, and qualifying Commissioned Officers, Warrant Officers, Government, and Contract rotary wing aviators assigned to the Special Operations Aviation Training Battalion (SOATB). Key responsibilities include:
- Instructing, coaching, and mentoring selected rotary wing aviators in the basic mission skills, night vision goggle (NVG) operations, special mission equipment, and special mission tasks.
- Conducting training under various environmental, light, and weather conditions at terrain flight altitudes, adhering to the guidelines prescribed in the U.S. Army Special Operations Aviation (ARSOA-6) Aircrew Training Manual.
- Ensuring Rated Student Pilots achieve the Special Operations Aviation (SOA) Basic Mission Qualification (BMQ) standard, as outlined in the Regimental Standard Operating Procedures (RSOP).
- Providing support for Army Aviation Proficiency and Readiness Tests (APART).
- Conducting aviator refresher tests and evaluations.
- Providing instruction on Instrument tests and evaluation flights.
- Performing crew duties during training support flights, recovery flights, demonstration flights, and as co-pilot for maintenance test flights when approved by the Government Flight Representative (GFR).
- Assisting with training schedules and aircraft scheduling.
- Coordinating aircraft and resource scheduling to support training program objectives.
Qualifications
- Minimum of two years' experience as a Fully Mission Qualified (FMQ), Flight Lead (FL), Standardization Instructor Pilot (SIP) or Instructor Pilot (IP) in Army Special Operations rotary wing helicopters.
- 2,500 hours minimum pilot/copilot experience in rotary wing aircraft, and 500 hours flying with Night Vision Goggles (NVG).
- Current FAA Medical Certificate.
- Rated by DOD aircraft type A/MH-6.
- Graduate of a DOD Instructor Pilot Course for the aircraft type A/MH-6.
- Current FAA commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument Rating (Helicopter) as required by AR 95-20.
- Current Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or Master's degree.
- Qualified in an approved Crew Dunker or equivalent.
- Qualified on the Sea Mark II Breathing apparatus or equivalent.
- Demonstrated, recent (within the last five years) experience with or knowledge of the SOF training environment.
- Experience assessing training and preparing units for deployment into conflict zones.
- Experience planning, directing, and synchronizing intelligence collection, analysis, and production in support of training, deployment, and contingency operations.

Compensation
The proposed salary range for this position is:
$70,300 - $154,700
Final salary may vary based on geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
