Flight Attendant - DHS Charter Program (Full-time)
Avelo Airlines is seeking dedicated and highly motivated Flight Attendants to join a committed team of safety and service professionals. This full-time opportunity is specifically for a charter program supporting the Department of Homeland Security, involving both domestic and international flights to support deportation efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensures the safety, security, welfare, and comfort of all Customers and other Crewmembers onboard the aircraft.
- Responds safely and effectively to a broad range of in-flight emergencies and contributes to the smooth and efficient operation of all aircraft and flight schedules.
- Completes incident/safety reporting requirements and submits timely documentation.
- Creates a caring Customer experience on every flight, from boarding to deplaning, serving as the primary point of contact for Customer issues onboard while finding creative resolutions.
- Is knowledgeable of and adheres to Federal Aviation Regulations, complying with laws, regulations, and procedures in all locations where operations are conducted.
- Attends all required training and maintains qualifications as determined by Inflight Leadership.
- Maintains working knowledge of all relevant Company materials, including the Inflight Service Manual, Flight Attendant Playbook, OneCrew Way Handbook, and other documentation, keeping up to date with revisions and bulletins.
- Lives the “One Crew” value by cooperating and working effectively with all operational Crewmembers and Avelo leadership, treating each customer with kindness and respect.
- May perform other responsibilities as assigned; duties may change when circumstances dictate.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must possess reliable transportation and the ability to report to an assigned location within two hours for reserve shifts. It is highly recommended that candidates live near their assigned base.
- Must attend and successfully complete all Avelo Flight Attendant training requirements.
- Must be able to accept and relocate to a base assignment at the Crewmember’s own expense after training.
- Must be able to work a rotating schedule with variable hours of up to 16-hour duty days, including nighttime or overnight hours, weekends, holidays, and multiple days away from home. This schedule will comprise only reserve shifts.
- Must present a neat professional appearance and demeanor, adhering to prescribed Inflight uniform and appearance guidelines.
- Complies with all DOT, FAA, and Avelo Airlines’ regulations regarding drug and alcohol compliance for safety-sensitive transportation employees.
- Is willing and able to serve all types of food and beverages, including alcoholic beverages.
- Maintains a working telephone number for required contact, files their address of residence with the company, and maintains its currency at all times.
- Must possess a valid United States passport (or foreign passport with applicable VISAs) prior to application with at least six months validity remaining prior to expiration. Must have the right to travel freely in and out of the United States, to and from all cities served by Avelo Airlines without restriction (including Canada).
- Must be able to understand, speak, read, and write English fluently.
- Performs all duties and responsibilities outlined in the Avelo Inflight Services Manual, Flight Attendant Playbook, Company safety manuals, and all duties as assigned by the flight Captain or Avelo leadership.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Physical Requirements:
- Vision must be at least 20/40 with glasses or contact lenses.
- Ability to physically lift 50 pounds from the ground to the waist.
- Able to walk forward down the aircraft aisle without interfering with the comfort of seated customers.
- Able to be seated in the jumpseat with all belts/restraints fastened, without the use of a seatbelt extension.
- Maintains balance while walking and standing during flight.
- Must be able to stand, sit, stoop, bend, reach, and crouch for long periods of time.
- Able to push or pull aircraft doors/exits, or food/beverage carts with a force of up to 100 lbs.
- Assists Customers needing assistance during an evacuation.
Compensation:
- Starting pay: $28 per hour (First year)
- 75-hour minimum monthly guarantee
- Lead pay: $2.00 override when flying in the lead position
- Per Diem: $2.25 per hour when on duty at the airport or flying
- Premium pay paid as applicable
- Holiday Pay for Company identified holidays as applicable
