Job Summary:
Join a dynamic, agile team at the forefront of autonomous aerial delivery as a Drone Videographer & Operations Support specialist. This role is central to visually documenting and actively supporting advanced drone operations. The individual will be the visual storyteller, capturing compelling flight footage and creating high-resolution video content that showcases the evolution of drone logistics in action. Beyond videography, this position requires hands-on participation in daily drone operations, field logistics, and close collaboration with engineering teams on flight testing initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Capture high-resolution and high-frame-rate video and photographic content of drone flights and ground operations.
- Translate technical operations and experimental missions into compelling visual narratives for engineering analysis and public storytelling.
- Actively participate in daily drone operations, including pre-flight checks, post-flight logging, and airspace coordination.
- Assist field crews with essential logistics such as battery management, drone transport, and on-the-ground setup.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and R&D teams to support flight testing, capture data-rich visuals for analysis, and provide real-time field feedback.
- Document prototype testing and troubleshooting processes, ensuring footage meets technical review standards.
- Support a core team of experienced pilots in a fast-moving, highly collaborative environment.
- Rotate between two active operational sites as required by testing and production needs.
Qualifications:
- Holds a valid FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate.
- Possesses a strong command of FAA regulations, airspace classifications, and safe operational procedures.
- Experienced in drone operational procedures, including pre-flight/post-flight checklists, NOTAM awareness, airspace planning, and radio communications within a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with engineering and R&D teams to support iterative flight testing cycles.
- Brings deep experience in photography and videography, specifically in high-resolution and high-frame-rate shooting (e.g., 4K/120fps), with the ability to visually communicate technical concepts.
- Functions as a proactive field asset, willing to engage hands-on with operational tasks such as managing equipment, assisting launches, and potentially piloting when necessary.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, startup-style environment, demonstrating creative problem-solving skills and adaptability.
- Is mobile and willing to travel between nearby operational sites, adjusting schedules to align with test flights and production requirements, potentially including occasional weekends or irregular hours.
- Owns and can skillfully operate high-end video/photography equipment (preferably a Sony FX3, A7III, or equivalent) paired with a professional-grade zoom lens.
- Proficient in post-production workflows using industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve).
- Previous experience documenting aviation, robotics, or other technical field operations, particularly in dynamic or experimental settings, is highly desirable.
