Allegiant Air Flight Attendant

Allegiant Air seeks dedicated and service-oriented individuals to join their team as Flight Attendants. These essential personnel are responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and comfort of passengers throughout their journey, from pre-boarding to arrival. Flight Attendants are the face of Allegiant Air, providing exceptional customer service while also contributing to the smooth operation of flights. They must accurately manage passenger counts and onboard goods, promoting the sale of Allegiant's products and services, as well as those of specified industry partners, in compliance with all applicable government regulations including the FAA and TSA.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must successfully pass a criminal background check.
  • Possess a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of direct customer service experience required.
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Must be capable of performing all required functions of the position.
  • Must be available to attend a minimum of 4.5 weeks of training in Las Vegas, including sharing a hotel room with a classmate.
  • Relocation expenses to the assigned domicile after training, if required, are the responsibility of the applicant.
  • Must exhibit the ability to react quickly and exercise sound judgement.
  • Must be able to walk comfortably forward down an aircraft aisle.
  • Capable of quickly maneuvering and fitting through aircraft overwing exits.
  • Able to fit into a jump seat harness without any modifications or extensions to the seatbelt and harness.
  • Must be capable of rapidly sitting and fastening seatbelts with a sense of urgency.
  • Must demonstrate basic computer skills and be comfortable using a tablet device (e.g., iPad).
  • Names on all required forms of identification (passport, driver’s license, social security card) must match precisely.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English to receive and understand instructions and ensure safety, as well as interact effectively with passengers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a flight attendant.

Job Duties:

  • Security: Conduct pre-boarding security checks of the aircraft, passengers, and carry-on baggage. Provide support to other crewmembers and leadership. Offer direction and assistance to passengers in adherence to all government regulations and company policies.
  • Safety: Perform pre-flight safety checks of the cabin area. Ensure that passengers are properly seated and that carry-on baggage is stored correctly during routine operations, advising passengers and confirming compliance with safety regulations and procedures. During unusual circumstances, such as decompression, turbulence, mechanical malfunction, medical emergencies, or unlawful passenger behavior, take action to maximize the safety of both passengers and crew. Assess and evaluate passengers for signs of intoxication and/or potential threats.
  • Comfort: Serve and sell food, snacks, alcoholic, and non-alcoholic beverages to all passengers. Attend to the special needs of passengers. Effectively communicate important travel-related information to passengers individually and via intercom.
  • Administrative: Document and file all required reports, including inventory and trip reports. Complete international paperwork as needed. Upload onboard sales in a timely manner. Other duties as assigned.

Required Training:

  • Initial/Pre-Employment: Successful completion of a minimum 4.5-week new hire training program, including at least 5 hours of Initial Operating Experience. Trainees must maintain a 90% or above average on all written and oral exams and perform all physical requirements of the job, including emergency/evacuation drills. Participation in water emergency training, which includes entering a swimming pool while wearing a life jacket, is also required. Class hours may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of the entire training program. Trainees receive a daily per diem as outlined in the Flight Attendant Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Recurrent/Ongoing: Team members must actively participate in simulated emergency situations and physically operate aircraft emergency equipment during all recurrent emergency and requalification training. Additional requalification, differences, and transition training will be provided as required.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands and work environment detailed are representative of those required to successfully perform the job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the role. While performing job duties, the team member is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, see, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate equipment. The role may require lifting, pushing, pulling or carrying up to 100 lbs. The team member must be able to work various shifts/days in a 24-hour operation. Regular attendance is a requirement. The team member will be exposed to extreme noise, temperature, wind, and light fluctuations. The role requires the ability to work in a confined area and sit at a computer for extended periods. Travel is also a requirement.

Essential Services Provider:

Allegiant Air, as a national air carrier, is an essential service provider during declared national and state emergencies. Team members are required to report to their assigned trip or work location during such emergencies, unless prohibited by local, state, or federal order.

Compensation:

  • Hourly Wage: $29.23, as per the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
