Inflight Base Supervisor
Job Summary
The Inflight Base Supervisor assumes a pivotal role in overseeing Inflight operations for assigned crew domiciles. This position is instrumental in upholding the Inflight Department’s commitment to operational excellence, safety protocols, and exceptional customer service standards. The Supervisor leads and manages Flight Attendants, fostering a culture of accountability, regulatory compliance, and performance excellence. This role involves coaching and developing Flight Attendants to surpass performance expectations, which includes conducting observation flights, performing ramp checks, and sharing critical customer experience metrics. The Supervisor is responsible for conducting fact-finding and grievance meetings, participating in hiring and termination processes as required, and adeptly managing conflict resolution while cultivating a positive, collaborative team environment. Working in a dynamic airport setting and in a front-line capacity, the Inflight Base Supervisor manages day-to-day operations, responds effectively to irregular operations, and implements strategic initiatives to achieve on-time performance and ensure the safety of Flight Attendants, always emphasizing the Company’s core principles and values. The Supervisor utilizes base and department performance metrics to guide decisions and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. This role promotes a safety-first culture by ensuring strict adherence to regulatory and Company standards, conducting thorough investigations, and maintaining accurate employment records. The Supervisor executes daily, weekly, and monthly operational plans, ensuring seamless operations during irregular schedules and flight interruptions, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to address delays, enhance on-time performance, and support initiatives that elevate the customer experience. The Inflight Base Supervisor also takes ownership of special projects designed to enhance departmental operational effectiveness and employee engagement.
Minimum Requirements
A combination of education and experience will be considered. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986 and must successfully pass a Criminal Background Check. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- Education: Associate's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Experience:
- Minimum one (1) year of experience as a Flight Attendant.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience managing people.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience managing in a union environment.
- Licenses & Certifications:
- Valid, unexpired Passport Book.
- Valid, unexpired Driver's License.
- Training: Ability to pass Allegiant Flight Attendant Training and maintain currency.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English to receive and understand instructions and directives, ensure safety, and effectively interact with customers.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products.
- Ability and willingness to travel as required.
- Effective communication skills with a dispersed workforce.
- Ability to manage a large internal and external client base.
- Capability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
- Adeptness at conflict management, demonstrating ease and comfort while establishing rapport and achieving positive results.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Job Duties
The Inflight Base Supervisor’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Leading initiatives to achieve on-time performance goals for the assigned base/region.
- Executing daily, weekly, and monthly operational plans and responding to irregular operations as needed.
- Working flexible hours and being available during evenings, weekends, and holidays to manage irregular operations and flight interruptions.
- Coaching and developing Flight Attendants to achieve and exceed expected performance levels.
- Conducting fact-finding and investigation meetings, ensuring timely and accurate grievance processes.
- Participating in the hiring and termination processes of Flight Attendants.
- Promoting a culture of safety and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and Company requirements.
- Maintaining knowledge of key base and department metrics and performance indicators, and the department’s performance relative to them.
- Conducting delay investigations and collaborating with other departments to improve on-time performance.
- Performing Flight Attendant ramp checks and observation flights as required.
- Communicating customer experience metrics to Flight Attendants while supporting initiatives for improvement.
- Interpreting contract language as it pertains to day-to-day operations.
- Maintaining accurate employment files for Flight Attendants.
- Exercising effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Serving as a company/department representative and liaison at the local level with internal and external customers.
- Ensuring that all direct reports understand and apply the Company’s Customer Commitment and customer service standards to their daily responsibilities.
- Modeling the Company’s customer service standards through personal actions and leadership direction.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements

This office-based role regularly requires the Team Member to stand, sit, talk, hear, see, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, keyboard, printer, and phone. The role may require lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying up to 20 lbs. The Team Member may be required to work various shifts/days in a 24-hour operational situation. Regular attendance is a fundamental requirement of the role. The work environment involves exposure to moderate noise (e.g., business office with computers, phones, printers, and foot traffic), and typical temperature and light fluctuations. The ability to work in a confined area and to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time is necessary. Some travel may be a requirement of the role.
As a national air carrier, the Company is deemed an essential service provider during declared national and state emergencies. Team Members are required to report to their assigned trip or work location during national and state emergencies unless prohibited by local, state, or federal order.
Compensation
Salary: $60,000 - $82,000 per year
