An exceptional opportunity awaits an experienced and dedicated Lead Pilot - Rotary to join our dynamic aviation team. This pivotal role involves overseeing rotary-wing flight operations, ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance, and providing expert leadership to fellow flight crew members. The successful candidate will be instrumental in maintaining operational excellence and fostering a culture of safety within a challenging and rewarding environment.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
The Lead Pilot - Rotary will be responsible for a comprehensive range of duties, ensuring efficient and safe flight operations, including:
- Commanding rotary-wing aircraft with paramount attention to safety, ensuring strict adherence to Transport Canada regulations, organizational policies and procedures, and all relevant flight manuals.
- Developing, maintaining, and implementing essential flight documentation, including Operations Manuals, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Training Manuals, and the Safety Management System (SMS) Manual.
- Designing and executing approved, comprehensive training programs for all flight crews, encompassing ground, synthetic flight training device (FSTD), and in-flight instruction.
- Providing direct leadership and supervision to all Line Rotary Pilots, upholding the highest professional standards, and actively managing crew scheduling and overtime coordination.
- Collaborating closely with the Maintenance Manager to promote and ensure safe aircraft operations.
- Overseeing and recommending enhancements to aircraft operating manuals and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure the highest operational standards.
- Fostering clear and effective communication with Traffic Flight Officers (TFOs), Air Traffic Control (ATC), and other aircraft for optimal flight coordination and clearances.
- Executing diligent pre-flight and post-flight inspections, including comprehensive aircraft walk-around checks, fuel management, and equipment verification, to ensure airworthiness.
- Upholding and monitoring the professional standards of all supervised flight crew members.
- Undertaking delegated responsibilities from the Operations Manager, supporting overall flight operations objectives, including assisting with budget forecasting.
- Formulating and disseminating essential directives and notices to flight crews.
- Supporting the Operations Manager with key aspects of flight operations, including the hiring, assessment, and training of new pilots.
- Efficiently processing and distributing accident, incident, and other occurrence reports.
- Collaborating with crew scheduling teams regarding training logistics and implementation.
- Ensuring the strictest confidentiality of sensitive information at all times.

Education, Licensing & Certifications
Prospective candidates must possess the following essential qualifications:
- A valid Transport Canada Commercial Pilot Licence (H).
- A valid Transport Canada Category 1 Medical Certificate.
- A valid Restricted Radio Telephone Operator’s Certificate.
Mandatory Experience
Candidates are required to meet the following experience criteria:
- A minimum of 5 years of previous flight experience.
- Accumulated 1000 hours of flying time on a rotary-wing aircraft, with at least 100 of those hours served as Pilot in Command.
- A minimum of 100 hours of night flying time.
- A clean record with no violations or insured losses within the previous five years.
Preferred Experience
Ideal candidates will also demonstrate:
- Previous supervisory experience in an aviation setting.
- 100 or more hours of piloting an Airbus H125 within the previous 12 months.
- 250 or more hours of flying time on a turbine engine rotary aircraft.
