Pilot - Flight Operations
TC Energy is seeking a permanent Pilot to join its leading utility aviation team, supporting operations across Canada and the USA. Based in Bolton, Ontario, this role offers unique flying opportunities in a challenging and rewarding environment, including aerial support for pipeline patrols and personal transport.
Responsibilities
- Act as Pilot in Command or as delegated.
- Ensure the safe operation of the helicopter and the safety of all persons onboard.
- Liaise with business units to determine helicopter flight operations and provide expertise for helicopter-related work.
- Conduct safety briefings, including instructions on aircraft safety, survival equipment, and emergency procedures.
- Perform thorough pre-flight planning, including ensuring safe aircraft configuration and cargo securement.
- Complete administrative tasks such as recording flight duty times, managing aircraft documents, and submitting expense and timesheets.
- Assist with hangar-related tasks as needed.
- Participate in the Company’s Safety Management System by reporting hazards and incidents and assisting with corrective actions.
- Support TC Energy's mission by accepting work away from base for up to three-week periods and adjusting work schedules for emergencies.
- Adhere to TC Energy’s code of conduct, embracing inclusiveness and refraining from workplace harassment.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Class 1 Aviation Medical Certificate.
- Valid Commercial (or higher) Canadian pilot license.
- Minimum of 3000 flight hours on turbine-powered helicopters.
- Ability to work in a two-crew operation.
- Restricted Radiotelephone Operator License.
- Experience on AS350B3, H125 aircraft, BH206 L4, BH206 Jetranger.
- Recent Flying in the Wires Training.
- Comfortable patrolling at low-level operations.
- Ability to work independently without constant supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- Thorough knowledge of Canadian Air Regulations.
- Significant experience flying in Canadian remote and high-density airspace.
- Experience conducting pipeline line patrols.
- Solid aviation knowledge base including weather reporting, GPS and electronic mapping navigation, weather minima, and aircraft radio communication.
- Comfortable working with modern electronic systems and document control.
- Well-developed communication, public relations, and documentation writing skills.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and decisiveness in stressful and emergency situations.
- First aid training.
- No accidents or incidents.
Additional Requirements
- Current, valid authorization to travel internationally (Canada, USA, Mexico).
- Successful completion of pre-employment medical screening, including drug and alcohol testing.
- Valid driver's license and provision of a driver's abstract.
- Willingness to travel to other company locations.
- Overnight stays away from home base will be required (estimated up to 50% of work schedule).
- Possession of, or eligibility to receive, a valid passport and maintenance of travel eligibility for domestic, cross-border, and international travel (including the USA and Mexico).
- Criminal background checks will be required.
- Variable work days, including weekends.
- Must reside within a reasonable driving distance of the TC Energy Bolton hangar.
