Job Title: Permanent Pilot
TC Energy is seeking a dedicated and experienced Pilot to join its utility aviation team in Bolton, Ontario. This full-time, permanent position supports critical energy infrastructure operations across Canada and the USA. The successful candidate will contribute to a safe, reliable, and sustainable aviation operation.
Key Responsibilities

Serve as Pilot in Command or delegate as directed by the base manager or Chief Pilot.

Ensure the safe operation of the helicopter and the safety of all personnel during flight operations.

Liaise with business lines to determine flight operation requirements and deliver technical expertise.

Conduct comprehensive safety briefings, including emergency procedures and equipment usage.

Perform detailed pre-flight planning, including load limit adherence and secure cargo management.

Complete administrative requirements, including duty time logs, document control, and expense management.

Participate in the company’s Safety Management System by reporting hazards and assisting in corrective actions.

Support pipeline transmission operations, including accepting work away from base for up to 3-week periods and adjusting schedules for emergency requirements.

Maintain compliance with the TC Energy code of conduct.
Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.
-
Valid Class 1 Aviation Medical Certificate.

Valid Commercial (or higher) Canadian pilot license.

Minimum of 3,000 flight hours on turbine-powered helicopters.

Experience in two-crew operations.

Restricted Radiotelephone Operator License.

Specific experience on AS350B3, H125, BH206 L4, and BH206 JetRanger aircraft.

Recent "Flying in the Wires" training.

Ability to perform low-level patrol operations.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications

Extensive knowledge of Canadian Air Regulations, including remote and high-density airspace operations.

Direct experience conducting pipeline patrols.

Strong proficiency in weather reporting, GPS and electronic mapping navigation, weather minima, and radio communication.

Competence with modern electronic systems and document control software.

Demonstrated communication, public relations, and technical writing skills.

Proven sound judgment and decisiveness in high-stress and emergency scenarios.

Current First Aid certification.

Clean accident and incident record.
Additional Requirements

Must possess valid authorization for international travel (Canada, USA, and Mexico).

Successful completion of a pre-employment medical screening, including drug and alcohol testing.

Maintain a valid driver's license and provide a driver’s abstract for review.

Ability to travel frequently, with overnight stays away from home base estimated at 50% of the work schedule.

Must hold or be eligible for a valid passport.

Submission to criminal background checks.

Ability to work a variable schedule, including weekends.

Must reside within a reasonable driving distance of the TC Energy Bolton hangar.
