Role Overview
The Fire Detection Pilot serves as the Pilot-in-Command for the Cessna 208 Caravan and Cessna 337 Skymaster, supporting fire and survey contracts. The primary responsibility involves conducting Visual Flight Rules (VFR) patrols across Northern Ontario to detect lightning and human-caused wildfires. This mission-critical role supports governmental wildfire management strategies, ensuring early detection and effective control of forest fires.
Candidate Qualifications

Valid Transport Canada Commercial Pilot Licence or greater.

Transport Canada Multi-Engine Rating.

Current Category 1 Medical certificate.

Minimum 1,000 hours of total flight time.

Minimum 500 hours of Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time.
Preferred Qualifications

100 hours of turbine flight time.

Prior operational experience on the Cessna 208 Caravan.

Valid Group 1 Instrument Rating.
