Responsibilities:
- Prioritize passenger safety and security by adhering to established procedures and protocols.
- Provide exceptional customer service with optimism, positivity, and genuine care.
- Effectively communicate with passengers, addressing their needs and resolving issues with understanding and grace.
- Maintain a professional appearance and represent United Airlines with pride and distinction.
- Work collaboratively with crew members to ensure seamless flight operations.
- Respond effectively in high-stress situations, such as aircraft evacuations and medical emergencies.
- Be available for global assignments 24/7, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours.
- Fulfill reserve assignments on short notice and be away from the base for extended periods.
Qualifications:
- Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application.
- High school diploma or GED required; two or more years of college preferred.
- A minimum of one year of customer service experience in a service-related industry (e.g., retail, hospitality, food service, education, aviation, social services).
- Proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding English fluently.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to speak clearly and concisely, even in emergency situations.
- Ability to hear all types and ranges of sound.
- Professional appearance and adherence to grooming and uniform standards.
- Must possess a valid passport with at least 18 months of validity remaining.
- Must be able to travel to and from all countries United serves without restrictions.
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, stoop, stretch, reach, lift heavy objects, and push/pull a beverage cart (up to 250 lbs).
- Ability to pass a functional reach assessment.
- Ability to sit in an assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule in support of United's 24/7 operation, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment DOT drug screen, comprehensive background checks, fingerprinting, and vision/hearing tests.
- Must be able to pass a 10-year background check, including criminal background history.
