Flight Attendant

Responsibilities:
- Prioritize passenger safety and security at all times.

- Engage directly with customers, utilizing strong interpersonal skills and sound judgment to resolve issues with understanding and grace.
- Promote customer loyalty through excellent service and represent United with pride and distinction.
- Be available for global assignments 24/7, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours.
- Fulfill reserve assignments on short notice and be away from base for extended periods.
- Work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Serve and/or sell food and beverages (including alcohol) in a diligent and professional manner.
- Operate electronic devices (phones, tablets, laptops, etc.) to complete required tasks.
- Stand, walk, kneel, bend, stoop, stretch, reach, lift heavy objects, and push/pull beverage carts.
- Effectively communicate in high-stress situations, such as aircraft evacuations and medical emergencies.
Qualifications:
- Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application.
- High school graduate or GED equivalent; two or more years of college preferred.
- Minimum of one year of customer service experience in a service industry (retail, hospitality, food service, education, aviation, social service, etc.).
- Fluent in English, with the ability to speak, read, write, and understand clearly and concisely.
- Proficiency in a second language (Arabic, Chinese, Dutch, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, Tagalog) is highly desirable.
- Ability to hear all types and ranges of sound.
- Professional appearance and adherence to grooming standards and uniform guidelines.
- Must possess a valid passport with at least 18 months of validity remaining.
- Ability to travel to and from all countries United serves without restrictions.
- Ability to pass a functional reach assessment.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule.
- Must successfully complete pre-employment drug screen, background checks, fingerprinting, and vision/hearing tests.

Training:
Successful candidates will participate in a comprehensive 6.5-week training program in Houston, TX, covering United's safety and customer service standards. United provides a \$140/week per diem, accommodations, breakfast, and lunch during training. A \$1,000 bonus is awarded upon successful completion of the training program.
