Aviation Pilot Summer Internship

Tyson Foods is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Aviation Pilot Summer Intern to join its flight department in Bentonville, Arkansas. This is a unique opportunity for a student pilot to gain valuable experience in a FAR Part 91 corporate aviation environment. The internship offers exposure to the daily operations of a professional flight department, including observation opportunities on domestic and international flights. The intern will report directly to the Assistant Chief Pilot and will participate in various projects, daily responsibilities, and professional development courses throughout the summer.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct a research development project for presentation within the aviation department.
• Serve as a flight crew member, potentially crewing multiple flights per week.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team and ground handling personnel.
• Assist with dispatcher and scheduling duties.
• Support safety and security officers on projects.
• Provide assistance to the training officer.
• Attend company orientation at Tyson World Headquarters.
• Participate in a Tyson Foods plant visit and tour.
• Undergo Flight Safety International flight simulation training.
• Potentially participate in an altitude chamber training course in Oklahoma City.
• Study aircraft systems and integration in a Falcon 2000, Gulfstream G500/700, or Global 7500.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Must successfully pass a ten (10) year background check and a five (5) year pre-employment drug screen.
• Hold a Commercial Airplane Multi-Engine Land certificate with Instrument Rating.
• Must be a pilot student pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in an aviation-related field with at least one semester of school remaining.
• Maintain strong academic standing.

Work Environment:

The intern will participate in scheduled domestic and international flights. The daily dress code is business casual; however, on flight duty, black pants and a uniform polo will be provided.

Northwest Arkansas National Airport (KXNA)

Compensation:

An hourly rate will be provided, dependent on year in school.

Assistant Chief Pilot

Internship Details:

This is a temporary, 8-week position scheduled between June and August.

Housing:

Furnished apartment provided.

Relocation Assistance:

For candidates who choose to travel using their own personal vehicles, Tyson Foods will reimburse up to a maximum of 400 miles round trip using the published IRS standard mileage rate. Relocation assistance is eligible.
