This pivotal role involves serving as Pilot-in-Command of company aircraft, assuming final authority for aircraft operations to ensure paramount safety and regulatory compliance. The Captain will additionally undertake special projects as directed by the Chief Pilot.
The Captain is responsible for the comprehensive operation of company aircraft. This includes diligent preparation of flight plans, adherence to established schedules, and compliance with all directives governing aircraft operations. The incumbent will exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions to initiate, delay, or cancel flights, or to deviate from planned routes or destinations, as dictated by prevailing operating conditions. Meticulous flight records must be maintained, alongside thorough review, calculation, and study of all aircraft and flight logistics. This encompasses precise weight and balance computations, fuel planning, performance chart analysis, and assessment of weather conditions at destination, en route, alternate airports, and departure points. Furthermore, the Captain is tasked with supervising the First Officer (co-pilot) in their duties and coordinating effectively with all aircrew members to ensure seamless operational execution.

This role typically requires a university or college degree, with higher-level education such as a Master’s degree, PhD, or relevant certifications being highly desirable. Candidates should possess a minimum of eight (8) years of industry-relevant experience. Specific certifications are often required. A comparable combination of education, job-specific certification(s), and experience, including military service, may be considered in lieu of a degree.
